E90 LCI LED Angel Eyes, Valeo light upgrade, 09+
I have been looking for LED AE's bulbs for my 09 LCI Halogen System but a number of places said they were not available yet, or some threw codes. I found these for the cars that have halogen headlights and use the Valeo angel eye bulbs.
The listing for these indicate they are good for 05-08 & 11 cars but I would confirm fitment none the less. These GP Thunder's are a direct replacement for BMW OEM Valeo part# 63117161444 and come with the extended bracket to fit the 09+ cars. Confirm part# here; http://bmwfans.info/ They are listed on ebay, http://www.ebay.com/itm/ANGEL-EYES-C...item2eb7b2dfd6 or these, http://www.ebay.com/itm/250888416569...84.m1438.l2649 NOTE: There are different sellers of the bulbs on ebay so confirm with the seller of your choice that the metal bracket and connector are included in the sets they are selling. The bracket is needed for the 09-11 models only. The bulbs listed below, with the AE's, will give you a color balance between all your lights; GP-Thunder II 8500K H7 Xenon Quartz Ion Light Bulb 55W http://www.ebay.com/itm/GP-Thunder-I...item5d30a6559a GP-Thunder II 8500K H8 Xenon Quartz Ion Light Bulbs 35W http://www.ebay.com/itm/GP-Thunder-I...item27bfa6d651 Note: You can also use the 7500k GP Thunders if you prefer them, also on ebay.

Easy, just took off the inner wheel well liner, 8 & 10mm sockets, only took 5 minutes to remove. The Valeo bulbs take just a slight twist after the two screws were removed. The whole job took no time at all. I am going to be putting in the H7, Low/High, & H8, Fog, bulbs next week. I know I could have gone a number of different ways with this but this was the upgrade I was looking for. I was able to match all the current wattages so there would not be any issues with codes. The end result is what I wanted and all the lights will be as close as possible in illumination, none any brighter than the others.

I completed the change out of the GP Thunder H7 & H8 bulbs. Pics below and I am quite happy with the results.

Finally got it installed, same part you got , plug and play like you said. Not the brightest, but 40 dollar solution for the halogen LCI is not bad at all...

Nice again, I missed that in pic 4. You've got to admit that it is a bargain mod for the 09+ Halogen system.
Get the H8's for the fogs and finish it off, unless you have those too.

GP Thunder II H7 light output
OP, thanks for posting your experience, I've been looking for a cheap replacement for the ugly yellow AE on my 09 LCI with Halogens for a while.
A quick question in regards to replacing the low beams with the GP Thunders, Have you noticed any increase or decrease in the light output from the stock bulbs? Does any one else know how the GP Thunders perform when stacked up against the Sylvania SilverStar Ultras? |

I noticed a remarkable difference, the pics speak for themselves. As mentioned above I replace all my stock bulbs with the GP Thunder 7500K's. I am not familiar with the SilverStar Ultras so I cannot comment on those. My issue from the beginning was to just get rid of the yellow tint bulbs and the GP Thunder did that. The colour balance is very good so no one bulb stands out more that the other. And as you mentioned it is a cheap DIY deal as well. Also, I have the same car as you so if you go this route you'll have NP's.

Depends what year your car is and if you have Xenon or Halogen's.
Check here, http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/

Information added to post#1
Note: There is an option to go to 8500k for the H7's & H8's that still maintains the 35w & 55w requirements GP-Thunder II 8500K H7 Xenon Quartz Ion Light Bulb 55W http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT GP-Thunder II 8500K H8 Xenon Quartz Ion Light Bulbs 35W http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GP-Th...item5d2dfa61db

Just an update, I did upgrade to the 8500k H7's and it does looks very differnet from the 7500K bulbs. I would actually recommend going with them,
