Spot on hood of month old X7

I have a spot on my hood, smaller than a dime in size. I haven’t tried anything other than trying to rub it off with a microfiber towel. It hasn’t made a difference, though. What could this be and how could I get it off? Thank you for any help!

Try car soap + microfiber, than iron/bug/waterspot removal sprays/chemicals, than clay bar. If still there, try polish. If still there, try scratch/swirl removing cutting compound followed by polish.

I had a couple of these on my hood. Polish took them right off.

Thank you for the suggestion. After polish do I have to put on anything else like a wax?

Id hit it with a clay bar. If it doesn't come off then use a scratch remover by hand. Polish after. Won't hurt the paint at all.

I picked up Griots Complete Compound today and it took it right off, no problem whatsoever. It was like magic.

Don't use a clay bar. Just use a bit of polish and see if that clears it up. And no, your car won't magically melt. If you are paranoid, then sure, slap some wax or sealant on there.
