Devil, the configurator update is done here!
Base price increased by 1725 Euros
New decoration insert (tetragon out)

and that basic IOS 8 filth.
The images with this one are even already available on the configurator.
The interface on the dashboard even looks different (presentation, color,...)
Phew, the touchpad (controller) still seems to be present
No more gearshift "box" but a small Audi/VW style button

Just looking at the configurator in Ireland and it is still the old interior. But checking the UK one and that has been updated. Even for the M240i, the heads up display is not available anymore. :

I just checked here: the head-up display is only available with the BMW Live cockpit navigation professional (included with the option, which is also in the innovation package).
It is no longer available separately

Now I’m really in a “last of it’s kind” scenario! I stuck with the analog gauges. Non-hybrid I6, analog gauges…I’m starting to think I should just park it in a garage for 30 years 😂

I’m not really sure tbh. The dealer says it should be here in 1-2 weeks, but she also says the status changed to 182 on May 3rd, which makes me think it could be longer. At this point I think it’s going to be a surprise!

I’m not sure if she was on the Toledo and took a few weeks to make it to Budapest, or if she was on the Victoria and got here quickly. It was one of the two!

I get back home on Thursday evening and I’ll be at the dealership Friday morning to go take a look, if the license plate isn’t on yet.

Looking forward to the first drive! Going to do my best to keep it under 4,000rpm for the first few hundred kilometers. Not sure I’m going to be successful 😅

My car is in status 193 - arrived to "Zeebrugge port" (Belgium).

I'm curious... when it was in status 165 its destination was programmed to Bremenhaven port (Germany)

Very curious to know why this change of destination "on the fly".

Anyone had this experience?

I really don't know how much time will take to arrive to dealer (I'm in Spain), so really don't know but i guess i have to pass this:

- the Quality Check
- wait for transport to final destination
- transport itself
- dealer doing their stuff before providing it to me...

I'll guess 2-3 weeks O_o

The irony of your story is that the boat passed through Barcelona (10/05) before going to Bremerhaven (quality control) then to Zeebrugge (19-21/5).

I don't know how they are then transported to Spain...

My car is status 165 and I have the VIN. Does that mean that the car has already left the factory and is on a boat to Europe? In any case I am a bit surprised as I placed my order 1st of April. That must be some kind of record…

It is now confirmed, I guess, that I am not getting iDrive 8. Initially, when I heard the news about it, I was nah… not for me. Now that I have seen it in person, I am kind of disappointed that I am not getting it. Maybe it does not have a classic cockpit design but overall has been done tastefully. Moreover is future proofing the car and let’s not forget resale value and the psychological factor. I just purchased a brand new model which already has an outdated interior. It feels like a d**k move from BMW.

Anyway, I’ll focus on the positives; having the car early for summer and keeping the gear selector. Of course I will enjoy the car when it arrives and I will be happy with it.

For my understanding 165 means the car has been shipped and is on its way to Europe. Hope so, because mine does have the same status

Regarding ID8: Of course, the new screen looks really impressive and more modern than the ID7, but for me it has far too strong a touch of an electric car. Too digital, looks like a driving smartphone, not well integrated. And i absolutely hate the new speedo design... and I love physical climate control and preset buttons. So I don´t think that having an ID7 will be a resale issue.

At least the good news you'll get it pretty quickly.
I don't quite understand how they plan their production (mine ordered in January, construction April pushed back to June).

If Idrive7 is a problem for you, see with your dealer (takeover by him or sale to someone else) but the risk is high that if you take a "new" with Idrive8: you may have it in 2023. ..
I'm also wondering about this change but I'll take it how it will happen...

Your car may be loading on the Horizon Highway (but I hope mine will be too)
