For me Cognac is far to much like my grandfather sitting room, but are sad seeing proper options fall away. Miss the light grey leather that used to be common across the ranges.
I actually love brown interiors, they look rustic and luxurious but not in an old man way like beige. Bummer cognac is out for the M2

Due to the elimination of the cognac interior in the 2025 M2, I just configured this build for a 2025 M4 Comp and sent it to my sales rep. I offered to seal the deal tomorrow if they agree to $1,500 below MSRP.

https://www.bmwusa.com/build-your-ow...bfni89/summary

Some on here have claimed that "Nobody" will do this as the result of the cognac interior being removed from the 2025 M2 offering.

Well I'm doing it and I'm sure I won't be the only one in the USA or the entire world in this decision.

Thanks. I spent a lot of time with the various color configurators prior to arriving at this.

This build also includes the no cost option forged aluminum alloy (likely 6061-T6) wheels. While less ornate than all the others, these are the best in terms of reduced vehicle weight and more importantly, unsprung weight and wheel/tire rotational inertia. And at least in theory, the forged (vs. cast) wheels will make for ever so slightly lower average brake temps due to the forging's tighten metallurgical grain structure - though perhaps to insignificant to measure.

My offer for $1,500 below BMW MSRP is pending approval of my dealership's sales manager. Will seal this deal tomorrow if they concur.

Consider the cognac interior as gone from the 2025 M2 due to very carefully planned intent by BMW.

In my case BMW likely "won" because I'm going to buy this exact M4 Competition configuration if my dealership agrees to my $1,500 below BMW MSRP offer. I'm beyond tired of black interiors, plus the M4 is a lot more car in so many other respects.

https://www.bmwusa.com/build-your-ow...bfni89/summary

Very simple transaction on their part - no financing, no trade etc.

Great dealership so far (Penske owned) and hope this works out. Roger's (Penske) dealerships are top notch, just like everything else he'd involved in. And they make everyone feel welcome, regardless of "initial impressions" that can oftentimes be so very wrong. This dealership has a up to the second showroom/sales department and service center and offers as wide variety of complimentary beverages and snacks, etc.

Another BMW dealership that's much closer to me is exactly the opposite and demanded a "$5,000 to $6,000 market adjustment fee," though they wouldn't know the exact figure until the time the car (M2 at that point) came in so they could "precisely calculate" that.

Remove the 1 color that isnt black and add another black color....

If Cognac has a low take rate....offer red , blue , white ? anything other than a 3rd black.

If you're referring to the silver 825Ms. I think they look the best, but doubt they are the lightest. The 825s are quite a bit heavier that the 826s per specs when these cars came out. I've seen the silver ones in person at the Welt and they are definitely a painted silver like the black variants. Having said that, they look the best of all the wheels.

I think they will have to. There's no logic in offering more than an option and that too black. Patience!

Even if we have to get the black interior, get it with M color highlights, it still beats buying the ugly M4!

BTW money is no concern here in case the M4 police comes after me

"M4 Police"...as though you wouldn't have one instead of the M2 were your situation somewhat different.

No Sir, I wouldn't have an M4 in any situation

I don't like M4's rear half, would take an M3 but I have too many 4 doors already.

BMW offers extra special financing and dealers offer special incentives on their least desirable cars and M4 is one of them unfortunately, along with those i4s etc. So even BMW agrees with me

Skyscraper is too safe for an M car.
Would go red, blue or green exterior.

I never liked Cognac or Tartufo.

I went with Coffee merino on my X5, and I would take that one over all interior colors (maybe except Fiona red).

I’ll do that deal at my store if they turn you down, but I’m not sure where you’re located.
We’re in the southeast, could probably include shipping if it’s not too far.

Some on here have claimed that "Nobody" will do this as the result of the cognac interior being removed from the 2025 M2 offering.

Well I'm doing it and I'm sure I won't be the only one in the USA or the entire world in this decision.

"Nobody"
Congrats on your decision. Not a fan of gray cars but love the fjord blue interior. And i will be in the won’t category as no matter the color i still can’t bring myself to even tolerate the face on the M3/M4.

You should have no issue securing that build. As others have stated, great spec! Enjoy in good health.

i really like to see the take rate of cognac.
at least according to the small sample size here in this forum,
if not 1/3, it feels like at least 20%, that’s not low.

i also feel this move is a tactic to move ppl to m4.

bmw needs to admit that they messed up the m3 and m4 big time with that big front teeth style! i believe some Ppl rather move down to m2 or walk away from bmw.
so this tactic may back fire.

if they had kept the m3/4 good looking like previous gen. , the sales would not be this bad.
911 and Cayman just keep their classic look over all these years, and they have no problem selling.
