Pre-Purchase Inspection NSW
Hi All,
First off just like to say long time admirer of a lot of the builds you guys are putting together. I've spent quite a bit of time checking out the forums and am finally at a point where I can bite the bullet and purchase my own E92. I've found a 2008 MY09 black on black E92 335 with DCT gearbox and comfort access I like in NSW but being based in SA I thought I'd see who you guys would recommend to get a pre-purchase inspection through or anything else I should keep an eye out for? Thanks |

If it's in Sydney Advan performance
http://www.advanperformanceeuro.com.au/ These guys know the 335i's inside out with all the common issues to look out for, and Peter is very particular with attention to detail so he would be a wise choice |

No doubt Advan is a great choice for an inspection. You did not mention if the car is a dealer or private sale. If it is a dealer car, they may not be so willing to take it off premises to have an inspection done. If that is the case, one option is to have an inspector go to the car.
I was in that situation with mine - I did not know of Advan at the time; I am in Canberra and car was in Sydney at a BMW dealership. I used State Roads > http://www.stateroads.com.au/sydney/. They were very thorough, provided an extensive and detailed report (even incl. paint thickness on multiple points of the car), sent an inspector familiar with BMWs, and best of all, I was able to have a long telephone conversation with the inspector after he had been through the car.

I too have used State roads for my last 3 pre inspection purchases and can't fault how detailed their reports are. And you also get 30 days warranty as well if something goes wrong that they did not pick up on their report. |

"Oh look here... You failed to mention the turbo waste gates were rattling. I'll just order some new turbos now and send you the bill shall I?"

I bought my car from NSW (I'm in VIC) and I used http://www.mtavehicleinspections.com.au/
There was nothing they didn't miss. They found cracks in 2 of the wheels (seller replaced) and found a couple of the bushes were shagged which I replaced when i bought the car. They were very good for a PPI Get a PPI don't listen to those guys. If I had my time again knowing what i know about 335i i'd def get a 335i expert to look at it like Advan as there are so many things specific to this model to look for, but i lucked out and my PPI was good. |
