My e90 is dead
Put a water pump and thermostat in about six months ago. Attempted to replace oil sensor; new one also won’t function. Mechanic suggested a possible BSD issue. Fast forward six months, break down on the side of the road with a non functional water pump. Lots of codes shown: 2E97, 2E84, 2E8E, 2E81, 2E98, 2E8B, 2A15, 2DED, 578E, 5F45, 5ED2. Off brand water pump so it’s feasible that it needs replaced again, but those codes include a water pump communication fault, an IBS comm fault, and an oil stage comm fault, so it’s sounding like a systemic electrical issue. Car still starts and runs, but water pump will not run. Any insight at all would be appreciated; until then I’ve got a dead bmw.
Thanks and happy holidays to all, KFM |

If you can replace the water pump yourself I would try that with OEM and save some money. These water pumps are electric so could be bad hardware.
