New G87 M2 photos emerge before official release

It's really the hard blocky lines on the rear bumper that are an issue for me. Had they smoothed that out it would have been a lot better.

I think it looks even worse. Might look ok in black so it kind of hides the ugly. Kind of like the G22 and G8x which have a nice shape but the details are off-putting to me.

But this just looks weird. Is the rear of the car even functional?

I've fully come around after seeing some of the color edits from forum members. I'm fully on board with the car looking good as a whole. Especially the side profile and 3/4 shots. Full frontal and rear lacks some of the beauty of the previous gen (and if I'm being honest, F87 rears were nothing to write home about) but I feel there is lot of potential and the aftermarket/M Performance will come through here.

The previous gen design was very hard to improve on, it was a more reserved and mature language, even with lips and diffusers, the car looks best when it's close to stock form. The G87 has plenty of room to expand. Also getting a bit of "tuner" vibes with this new car, which I'm into. Still holding onto the F87 because it's such a great car but looking forward to the G87 LCI with MP wing.

My guess is, it will only be corrected with M performance parts.

That looks less cohesive than the M3/M4. Red won't change that.

Not trying to be a hater, but why BMW? I don't understand the front and rear design. The headlights look awful. The rear end just looks unfinished and poorly designed. The F87 M2/M2C was probably one of the best looking cars BMW has ever made. And they followed it up with this terrible design. Just my opinion.

Looks like the design team used Anime as their influence in design on this one. Just looks tacky and weird to me! There is not one positive thing I can say on this M2 version. The G8x grill would of looked better than this.

It's interesting to me how these leaked photos have the left portion of the rear-end with horizontal and vertical protrusions while the right side protrusions appear much more angular. Personally I'm saving my subjective aesthetic judgment of this car for tomorrow.
