Oil Cooler Dinan plunge

Ok I've had my 335i base '07 w/no oil cooler now for 3yrs and just keep revisiting the oil cooler options. I keep coming back to two options. 1- Dinan kit 2-Evolution Racewerks sport kit. I really like how the Dinan kit comes with everything from weather stripping, new fender liner etc for a real clean install. But my god do they rape you on the price. Unfortunately my type A is taking over and telling me just bite the bullet, get raped, buy the Dinan kit and enjoy the clean install. So I've been sleeping on it for a few days now and if all goes well I'll order it this weekend. So happy and pissed about the price.

Save a lot of money and go with the ER competition oil cooler. JMHO.
Dinan is way over priced take it from someone who has spent the money before on Dinan before.

For the money, DEFINITELY go the ER Competition Kit. You seemed to have accepted that you're going to spend the money, so might as well get the best setup out there right now.

Can't beat the dual Oil Coolers and a pretty clean install.

Yeah, $2500 is a lot of money for the full size Dinan for use w/o OEM OC. The ER looks really nice at $1500.

If you go ER, look to sub for metal braided lines. Dinan includes them, FWIW.

Wow, I wish that Dinan deal ($800) was available when I purchased my ER sport oil cooler. I've had mine for a couple months and I'm happy. I added the bms thermostat and it doesn't go above 230 when I really push it.

dinan means rape in german. True story.
Spread em! or get the ER kit, I have the sport kit (with the BMS oil tstat bypass) and it's plenty for medium autox duty with 95 degree ambient.

Either way go with Jeff at top gear. Has always taken care of me from the clutch I ordered to my oil cooler.

Not happy with the ER kit. Doesn't fit well from what they sent us a while back - required re-working the cooler casing and shrouding, putting the customer very far behind. Fittings are dead on the bottom of the bumper. Caused the same customer to lose an oil cooler when he hit something in the road that bent the lower fitting. Cooler is a mid-grade Fluidyne/Mocal/Earls stacked plate. Not a fan of the meager outlet louvers - doesn't leave a lot of room for air to escape.

The Dinan cooler is expensive because it uses a Setrab 625 - 25 rows versus 20 for the similarly sized Fluidyne/Mocal/Earls equivalent. The shrouding kit fits, albeit a bit tight. Could it be cheaper? Sure. But it works on very heavily tracked, tuned 335s and 135s all day long. Definitely worth the extra money if you plan to really beat the car hard. If not, anything will work.

The ER competition kit I was referring to has twin coolers... You get twice as much for the same price.

E92 Dinan kit FS ^ will not fit my car. Back the drawing board. I'm going to search around for a used E90 Dinan kit if not just make the plunge.

But then you sacrifice the option of PPK or a CAI that uses the driver side air duct

Its ideal to go one big OC while leaving other options available for mods
