seems to be a capped connection for the optional alarm switch under the hood.

Overdose is correct, that is the connector for the trunk switch for the factory alarm. Many cars are pre wired for the factory BMW alarm but no alarm is actually installed.

As above, your car is pre-wired for an alarm. A really good upgrade IMO!
This is the alarm switch you would need: https://www.ebay.com/itm/255438397050 It also needs a little bracket to hold it: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...ch-61316932791 You would also need to get the siren, bracket, and dome sensor. All plug and play and then a little coding to activate! |
