Oh yes black looks very evil 😈

I celebrate the color already although I still have to wait until October.

But yeah, honestly...when was the last time Pirelli impressed anyone? When the P Zero Corsa came out 15yrs ago?
Trofeo R, that’s it unless you race F1 and have access to those tires haha
Everything else is trash from Pirelli.

Oh there's my car!! Jk I'm third on my dealer's list. TR carbon roof. He advised me last week that I can't get a 50 year emblem and that customer allocations should begin later this month. I assume these are HEA and press cars for testing. Car and driver, road and track. YouTube reviewers etc.

Save them for the P car guys they think they're great and keep putting them on after their originals wear out.

For those of you guys who abhor pirelli tires, what exactly is it about them that you don’t like? Have you actually tracked both to see a difference or are you going by what the magazines are saying?

For instance, Porsche uses Pirelli tires and I haven’t heard of any hate about how it ruins the car in anyway vs Michelin.

Add’t at the bmw Performance center, they exclusively use continental tires and I was super impressed with the cars’ handling vs riding in a colleagues M4 with Michelins.

Yes, continental is exclusively used at the performance center. I have always been informed that The BMW Group owns a portion of Continental.

Part of that is for durability reasons - higher UTQG rating.

ExtremeContacts are very good tires.

I have been in several sports cars with Pirellis and they're OK, but have a bit higher noise and feel stiffer, yet wear faster for everyone I know who has them. Cars in the hood: GT3's, 675LT, C7's/C8's, etc. Average user experiences.

Wish they offered a proper blue color, similar to LBB or Yas

Nearly any BMW blue would be better than ZB. Screenshot of individual blues.

In our area, ExtremeContacts = garbage. PS4S is the only real tire (unless you like to go through tires and have control issues).

So not exactly an apples to apples comparison, but I had issues with grip. I was an extremely early adopter of the S550 platform Mustang GT back in 2014. The loaded up cars came with Pirelli P Zero tires (265/35R20). A stock 372 WHP car would blow the rubber off far too easy... and I'm not talking about launching the car. It was really doing anything.

Like I said, not apples to apples seeing as how American car companies take a hammer and nail approach to making sports cars, but the experience was enough to make me loath the tire. Michelins pretty much solved my early issues with the car before I started making crazy power.

The ExtremeContact Sport received an update a few months ago. Now ExtremeContact Sport 02.

BMWBLOG Review https://www.bmwblog.com/2022/12/07/c...port02-review/

The MPS4S is a phenomenal tire, but is beyond overdue for an update.

Keep in mind that the tires that come on your BMW from the factory are produced to BMWs specs/compounds. They carry the recognizable ‘star’ on the sidewall for a reason.

What do the OE tyre markings mean? https://www.goodyear.eu/en_gb/consum...ings-mean.html

Obviously cant comment on the Sport 02.

Michelin did an update for the PS4 but nit the PS4S. Maybe coming in the not so distant future, who knows. I will say, my S5 came with Continentals and what a buch of garbage, even on a quattro system. I have had P Zeros and they were horrible in the South Florida conditions. The formula may be old, but the PS4S is still an amazing tire for power on the street.

When do PS5S come out in the US? I’m not sure how much longer I can hold out before I need to replace my current pilot super sports

A regional manager for Discount Tire recently informed me that the MPS5S is delayed indefinitely. He was unwilling to disclose why. I commented because of the rubber shortage? I received no reply.

For those not in the know, Discount Tire now owns The Tire Rack and has since December 31, 2021.

Yas is not what I’d consider a proper blue… It’s a Smurf blue IMO

I really wish BMW would offer bright red on more models. They've always been stingy with that color.

The only Michelin's the G87 will come with from factory are PS4S for the entire lifecycle of the car. Once they do the initial tire R&D they don't change it.

I was wondering why we haven't seen anything on the 5S yet, that's a bummer. Also didn't know DTD now owns TR. I find dealing with TR is a far better experience than DTD.
