This is a known fact for most of us. When I'm with my parents or SO, I drive very mundane & almost like a grandpa would. LOL

The wife acts like an extended traction control system, far more intrusive and sensitive than the built-in system of a BMW. It reduces power prematurely, both in a straight line and in the corners.

When I have my girlfriend in the car, I drive aggressive but nothing crazy. She loves my exhaust pops (thank you Milltek). When I have my wife in the car, she likes the flaps closed because she hates the pops. I dont have kids. |

My wife used to love the feeling of acceleration but now it spins her out and is uncomfortable for her. It forces me to drive no more than 1/3rd throttle in my M4 Comp Xdrive lol.

No. I have to reign my wife in with her X3MC & she had to sign a waiver attesting that she would not drive my Callaway Z06 or else my insurance rates on that would've been through the roof.

I live on an island that’s only 20 miles wide with 3m people. I barely get over 40mph and don’t really drive aggressively to begin with. If the wife is with me she does remind me of all the cars that are braking in front of me so I drive even slower. When she’s driving her own car, she’s the aggressive one lol.

I keep to lower speeds vs by myself but I do accelerate and corner hard to see how she reacts. We were on a date night this past weekend and I had her giggling uncontrollably with some of my rowdy driving.

No, too old to waste good corners.
Wife (clutching the oh sh*t handle rounding a hard corner): "Do you hear the tires SCREECHING?!?!?" Me: "Nope. I hear them working." |

Yes, I'm too busy finger blasting her to drive aggressively. Be sure to tell your friend.

LOL definitely, I still dont drive slow but not as aggressive. If its an M its to be driven like one 😂😶‍🌫️😂. But if Im using the SUV or the daily beater car then I usually drive with them the same as if I am alone. So then the answer to your question becomes depends which car vehicle im driving!
