Help a fellow Atlantan install a new bumper?

Hey Guys,
Just ordered the OEM M-Sport front bumper kit from Tischer to convert my 2007 E93 non-M-Sport bumper. Not sure when it'll arrive but I'll still need to get it painted (AW) when it does. Wondering if anyone locally has done this conversion before and would like to help do the install. I'm OTP north in the Dunwoody/Sandy Springs area...I'll supply the Buds (or maybe something classier)!

Give me a shout and we can schedule some time when I know I'll be ready to do the install.

I'm down if you need an extra set of hands. Have you sourced/dropped your bumper off for paint yet? I have a aero front lip that needs painting Alpine white and wouldn't mind ganging up the parts to try and get a better price. Shoot me a PM to discuss.

Hey Chris, another Chris here as well. I'm on my iPhone so no pm capability right now, but wanted to say thanks and we can certainly get a better price by combining our paint order. Just ordered the bumper yesterday; no delivery date yet. Not sure who I will use yet as I'm concerned about an accurate color match. I will ask my dealer who they use. Have you gotten any quotes on you lip paint?
Best,
Chris

Best,

Alpine is a tough color. Although it is #300 and single stage, it is tinted slightly for different model years. I have read some whites running cooler or warmer depending on certain yrs and models making color match a challenge for inexperienced shops.

I plan on doing some local quotes this week. Global BMW uses Magnum collision in Marietta. They are top notch in regards to BMW knowledge, quality and unfortunately price accordingly.
http://www.magnumcollision.com/

I also plan on getting a quote from The Collision Co in Alpharetta
http://www.thecollisionco.com

And this board recommended shop. I pass this shop once a week and have seen lots of BMW paint work/cars (I think nivedh has used them. He may have feedback)

Ok let me know what you find out. My dealer is united in Roswell and I'll ask them too. So what year is your AW? I hope we don't have two different tints of AW.

I assume any shop that does official dealer repaint jobs must use OEM paint?

Just realized that with a convertible it's gonna be hard to safely transport a painted bumper.

I always recommend Bavarian Body Works in West Midtown. They rebuilt my friends M roadster after an incident at Road Atlanta and it looked better than new. The guys are super friendly too.

It would probably be easier than transporting it in an E90 like I did. It should help if you put the top down. Recline your passenger seat all the way and put the bumper in lengthwise and it won't be an issue at all.

I have 2007 Alpine White e92 (may 07 build). Shouldn't we any issues with match.

PS, Be sure to tape padding on the top and bottom wheel well corners (if you unbox) as these are easy to damage contact points when the bumper is off the car.

OK guys, finally got my MSport front bumper kit delivered over the weekend...holy crap, 3 big boxes! I haven't opened them yet... I'm trying to find out from United BMW Roswell about which paint shop they use (just emailed my SA this morning).

Hey Digitalinkartist, any luck on your estimates yet?

Make sure you get a good price. My SA at United BMW told me it's roughly 100-150 per bumper... PM me your contact, we can see who gets the better price!! hah

Just got a response from my SA, she said United Roswell has their own colllision center on premises...gues I'll give them a call to get a price.

OK, so I'm a total noob at this stuff...and as I stated above I haven't even opened the boxes yet...but please confirm: the ONLY thing that needs painting in this kit is the actual single-piece bumper, correct?
