Exactly! I think they just shoehorn every build into a standard template even if it doesn't suit all situations. Considering how long my car sat before finally getting on a ship, I can't believe how fast it got to Baltimore, only 2 days!

I've been tracking this one too, though it went to Jacksonville, FL, after it's Brunswick, GA stop...back south then north again.(?) Just a little, but still weird.

Now, while my car onboard is scheduled for Baltimore, the ship GLOVIS SPIRIT is on its way to Philly! (WTF?) My dealer said the itinerary shifted left one day, but no change in location. I wish it was in Baltimore, but says its off the coast of the Carolinas now. If in Philly this Friday (per schedule), won't hit BAL until Monday/Tuesday, I think.

Overall, I think you're right and it's on the Sagittarius Leader.
That is my M240i on that ship. If your car is headed to the west coast than it makes sense. I am tracking it now and its actually scheduled to port on Friday two days early from their prediction. Whatever that is worth these days. So I will check back on Friday.

Yep, I'm a west coast (SoCal)delivery. I've been tracking it to so hopefully mine is on there also.

well mine has now switched back to "in transit" from "at the port" this afternoon so presumably the short 400 miles to South Carolina will happen tonight and I can go see the car tomorrow!

edit: dealer says ETA shows Monday but I am hopeful its sooner. I can't imagine how a car carrier takes 5 days to travel 400 miles.

So your car is still on the Glovis Spirit and getting dropped off in Baltimore? Heres something weird, my car was on the GS and was dropped off in Brunswick and then shipped to Baltimore by land and it got to Baltimore yesterday. Then Friday its supposed to leave on a truck headed for MI.

That is weird. I wonder if my car, too, was shipped to Baltimore. It is the location that's reported by my dealer. I guess I am making assumptions about the logistics. My dealer did not know anything about where my car is today...only that it was pushed back one day to this Saturday.

How'd you find out your car's in Baltimore after getting off in Brunswick??

14 Hours to go until the Sagittarius Leader is expected at the port! I took advantage of the free trial for advanced tracking on Marinetraffic.com

I also got a nice surprise today at work with a Blue G42 M240 that came overnight. The car is definitely impressive in person!

I was told by my CA and then called the Genius Hotline to confirm. Still seems odd if the same ship is also going to dock in Baltimore though.

EDIT: I had a funny feeling about this so I called the Genius Hotline again just now, they told me my car is actually still in transit to the Baltimore Processing Center and is expected to arrive their tomorrow (not ship tomorrow). So that means it will leave early next week ao I might still be able to get it on release day. This is weird because I know what the CA told me, maybe he just got his dates mixed up.

Anyway, depending on when the GS is due in port at Baltimore my car may not actually arrive before yours. I wonder if my car needed something they only do in Brunswick which is why it went there first?

Well, seems the ship is going to Philly first...arriving there tomorrow. I still don't understand that some cars would take the ship to Baltimore, and that they'd pay for a truck for others. It still maybe that my car is not onboard too, so I'm looking into that with my dealer.

I'd suggest giving the Genius Hotline a call. It seems at times they are better informed than the dealers. But as to why some get off the ship and are trucked, and others stay on the ship until it's in port, that's a good question. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense from the outside.

I would not trust the tracking data screen as much. Mine has been delayed with info and now shows "in transit" when I know my car is on the boat which is just landed earlier this morning at 5am. In other words, it can't be "in transit" when its still on a ship technically the way its written out. Anyway, I would email Genius for updates since they appear to be on top things a lot more. I expect mine should be en route the next few days if it gets off the boat in a reasonable time. I work in a field where our equipment has had delays getting off transports due to lacking trucking transports so I am hesitant to think it will go as planned from the boat to the dealership. I think most of us will have them ready to go by next Friday.

So did your car show up right after the boat entered port? I am confused how fast that occurred if I hear that correctly.

Congrats! Do you have to wait until the 20th to take delivery? Are you going to see it soon? I hope I'm your situation in a week from now.

I get this part however, it all depends on how serious you are on this. They must prep the paint prior to ceramic coating anyway so i wouldn't stress what they do the first time but then again who knows with some locations of shops.

Sorry for the multiple posts thing recently. I am trying to see how to answer several quotes of others at the same time. I think the bulk of us are all excited and anticipating the arrival of these cars so we are looking for any hope.

Edit: so my car was "in Transit" and now it shows "at the port" and went backwards. This does make more sense as the car just arrived at the port but example of don't trust the app updates.

I think it just depends on how well you trust your dealer's detailers. You could ask them to correct the paint as needed and just not apply any wax/sealers if you're going to do ceramic later. If you're comfortable doing any necessary paint correction yourself, you might as well just leave the wrap on and drive it home like that.

Our dealer offers some liquid coatings, as well as PPF, so that's certainly an option too. I just depends on if it's something you'd rather do yourself. I have faith that our detailers will do an excellent job, but I just want to do it myself because I think it'll be a cool experience with a new car.

I can see how that would be confusing! My bad. I ordered a Thundernight 240, but our dealer finally received one of our HEA spec cars (the Portimao Blue one). It was the first opportunity I've had to see one (and give it a short PDI test drive).

For my experience, our cars will show "at the port" when it is at the departing port. When it is on the ship, it goes to "in transit". The the destination port it goes back to "at the port". When it gets loaded onto a truck car carrier, it goes to "in transit".

Kind of confusing they use the steps twice, which involve your car going backwards on the progression.
