335i bogging down
Hello everyone,
I was hoping someone could advise on the following; I have a 2010 E92 335i DCT (N55) Yesterday whilst doing about 90km/h on the freeway in sport mode & in 5th or 6th gear i put my foot to the floor. The car shifted down to 3rd, the revs went up to about 5000rpm & then immediately bogged down. As if the DTC had kicked in, or like I was on the rev limiter & didn't upshift. I then tried it again from around the same speed & the same thing happened, it stayed at about 5000rpm & didnt upshift and was bogged down and jerking. I then tried flooring it from a standing start & everything was fine. Ps, The car has travelled 30,000k's & I also have the BMW Performance upgrade since around 20,000k's. Any thoughts would be appreciated. |

any non OEM tune in place? Sounds like a flat spot or the ECU throwing in some retardation

That's not good news - hope if turns out to be something minor. Would suggest taking into the dealer for a warranty check.
Did you get the stage 1 or 2 performance upgrade? been wondering about that upgrade |

Safe? There are 1000's in play around the world with no issues. sure you can remove a piggy (20 minutes) before a service or simply turn it off (1 second). with a flash simply plug in and unflash (20 minutes) all of these for under 1k with more power then the BMW pwr kit

Someone has to show me one day whats involved. I've seen youtube vids on the installation and it makes me a little nervous.
What about cooling? With the bmw stage 2 upgrade there's an additional fan and radiators I think. |

Sure but for the same $$$ you could get a JB4, DP's, meth and upgraded oil cooler.
I guess it all depends on what you want to achieve. I appreciate the trepidation!!! I was rather nervous the first time, there are many members here who would be willing to show/walk you through the install. Once you have done it you will realise how easy it really is. But the first time you take the socket set to the engine bay can be a little daunting, but not feared :-) |

Just get a COBB AP if you are worried about going into the engine bay. |

Btw guys Haydrick is N55 so installing a tune is a little trickier than N54 tunes, (JB N55 is easier than Procede N55 due to the crank sensor or lack thereof) but the tunes are still definitely plug and play and give me good gains (although slightly down on the N54 brethren)

I would recommend this upgrade particularly if you don't want to compromise your factory warranty. |
