iDrive Upgrade, Factory Reset
Hey all,
I recently bought a 2007 E90 335i, the previous owner had installed the following iDrive upgrade: https://bimmerdirect.com/products/e6...42953534636285 The unit was working perfectly for a few weeks, but then I had issues with my phone automatically connecting to Apple CarPlay. A factory reset the unit (big mistake) and now my phone automatically connects, however I have lost all audio, iDrive buttons don't work, I can't switch back to the original headunit, I can't access the factory settings (tried a whole heap of passwords). I've tried contacting Bimmer Direct (the supplier) with no responses. Has anyone experienced these issues after a factory reset? I've found other people have performed a firmware update, but I have no idea if the update was performed on the same type of headunit/same series of car. I've attached a photo of the current firmware installed for reference. Any help would be awesome, cheers. |

check the idrive and coding sub forums.
Since this is an aftermarket unit I would back out of the install an go back to stock to see if that still works. You are not likely to find much support for aftermarket units. |

Will do, thanks for the direction.
Wasn't super confident that someone would have the magic answer as aftermarket head units vary so much, but worth asking the question. Thanks mate |
