Anyone did cam bearing ledge tray job with a used part?
I need to replace my intake camshaft bearing ledge tray and was looking at used ebay parts since this part is now 550$ new. If I don't find anything I'll have no choice but considering the price and that the new seals do not gouge into the metal anymore, figured a working used one would be perfect idea.
That said, while they all say good working condition, I can visually see some kind of ledge in the picture in the problematic area. I've also heard that if your fingernail catches it's no good and will throw the related codes. Has anyone successfully bought a used tray and had good results and experience? Any advice to share? |

I looked into used trays when I did the job and decided it probably wasn't a good idea based on what I saw at eBay. Also can't beat that FCP lifetime warranty.

Yeah for real at this point I'm looking at new. The ebay selection is total shit. Had another user told me to he got a used one but his advice was to go for one where you can still see some shiny parts. They are way past the ones from the pic below. Oh well, - 580$
