For those keeping the stock wheels for winter like I am, see below. Posting this for perhaps the 3rd time in different threads:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/18590174835...emis&media=SMS Paid retail for the fronts through TireRack, but saved a ton regardless. Already have them installed and running just fine. I intend to get some new forged wheels for summer. |

I would just say that Soto Zero's wear out super fast. Had them for two winters on my F87C and they where done. about 4k miles per winter. I much rather the Alpines.

New Yorker here. Planning to order this week. Staying with stock rims. So just ordering tires. Getting Vredestein Wintrac Pros. Front is stock size and rear I will put a 275 on. Gave up trying to find Alpin PA's in right sizing.

I’ve been a big fan of the hankook winter I* cept evo 3’s. Had them previously on my g47 and they were amazing. Great performance in snow/ wet conditions. Only downside was the road noise, but that comes pretty much with every winter tire. With that being said, I chose to buy them again for the g87. Set of 4 tires in stock sizes for the m930 rims set me back about €950 which is about €400-500 cheaper than Michelin or pirelli alternatives.

My plan is to sell the stock summers and replace them with high performance all seasons. That’ll allow me to drive the car 340-350 days a year and then on the really sloppy days, I’ve got an old 4Runner. It’s obviously a performance sacrifice but between not having to swap tires and our variable weather, it’s an easy trade-off for me to make. Last edited by FryCookOnVenus; 11-09-2023 at 04:54 PM.. |

I will if I have to use them.
However, I hope I never have to!!! Sometimes my ski area has flashing lights requiring chains, and some mountain passes do too. They should perform like these: https://youtu.be/sPkM1CL4oGY?si=D8DNOTnmoU4ZTSpn |

But in my experience with different tires in different cars and in different conditions is: I’m in love! The best all-around winter tires and the best experience I’ve ever had. I’m extremely pleased with the BMW Genuine winter set. I highly recommend it. We have a friend in a more wintery province here and he was satisfied too, let’s see if his experience changed with time. The star spec Pirellis (summer and winter) are phenomenal. |

Just don’t drive it like an M2 in the snow and it performs just fine. |

They are good, but I've found the P0 Star Winters have limited size options, and sell out whenever I look for them.
I personally do not like the BMW Winter rims and would rather put winters on rims of my choice, and Pirelli's were hard to get off the rack. But hey, I kept my e90 specifically for the winter, so I don't have to solve this problem today. When springtime comes around, I'll check the market again and see what's available. |

https://www.shopbmwusa.com/product/1...-JET-BLACK-UNI You could visit your local BMW dealer and see what the parts department can find available. For a possibly lower cost yet still satisfactory winter wheel/tire set try Tire Rack and shop for a set of wheels/tires for your car. I did and found several different winter tires available and suitable wheels. |

Yeah, I saw that BMW wheel/tire set before. $6k is a bit steep. I was just hoping to get some winter tires and putting them on the OEM wheels. Just having trouble finding the OEM tire sizes for winter tires. Could 10" fit in the rear with the OEM wheels? I was not able to find the 285 10.5" for a winter set. Would using 19s all around work for the G87? |

Different wheels but same square setup. What psi are you running? Found a calculator online, entering their load rating, it came up with 36 fronts and 35 rears.

If you don't want to go that route that's up to you. And I can't blame you. But it does provide you with what winter wheel/tire sizes BMW sanctions and you can use this info to create your own winter wheel/tire setup from scratch and for less money. I've never bothered with winter wheel/tires but if I had to I think I'd get a 2nd set of wheels and put winter tires on the wheels. I'd leave the original wheels mounted with whatever tires I would use in other seasons. My info is with high performance tires it is best to once mounted leave them mounted. I can't say you can use 19" wheels/tires all around. I would refer you to the BMW site to see what wheel/tire sets BMW sanctions for the M2. If you don't find a set in your budget you can then visit Tire Rack to see what wheel/tire sets it has gathered together which would fit your car and your budget. It is possible that the winter wheel/tire setup does not use the same size tires as are on the car now. With other cars of other brands with staggered wheel setup the factory winter wheel/tire set used the same size wheels/tires at both ends of the car. Obviously the wheels cleared the brake calipers. |
