PSA - plates (Ontario)
Hey all,
Just a quick warning...was off to Grandma's house yesterday for Sunday lunch when I was pulled over by the OPP. Had just turned a corner so wasn't speeding yet....the OPP have plate scanning technology and as I drove by it raised a warning because my plates had expired. I figured I would get a reminder email on my birthday but obviously that didn't happen. Officer said ⅔ of the province is in this boat (plates expired but don't realize it) ... $110 fine but he let me off with a warning. I renewed when I got home and was able to set a reminder this time. He did admire the vehicle... fyi... |

Ah you were referring about the scanner! Gotcha.
I looked it up out of curiosity, look at this stuff: https://www.forbes.com/sites/thomasb...r-ai-criminal/ So not only do they scan it, but they have AI tell the cop that you’re suspicious because you might be doing the same thing a criminal would be doing lol crazy stuff Although that’s in NY, which arguably is worse than Ontario… lol Alberta and Saskatchewan are the only safe places around these parts… |
