This one sounds pretty good and is supposed to be available in about a month.

that actually isn't that bad. IMO, the factory system sounds good already but just needs a little bit more volume

Agreed! The car sounds excellent in Sport+ but just a little too nullified. Also I wish it sounded like that in normal Sport mode.

I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on this too so will be curious to know what you think once you get it installed. They also told me axelback was the right one for my car. Until recently I had never heard of Milltek. Do they produce some good tuning products?

Never mind my last post as I did some research on Milltek and they are legit! sadly the exhaust is on backorder, but should be available in a few weeks. I also contacted dinan and although they couldn't tell my exactly when their exhaust will be to market, they said it had finished development and now they are just working on procuring materials for it. So I'm debating, do I wait for the Dinan one or move forward with the milltek one?

If budget is at all a concern (and you're not in a rush) - I'd try to wait for the Dinan one.

Milltek is good stuff, but they're based overseas, whereas Dinan is in the U.S.

I always try to get Dinan parts if they're available.

Yeah I thought of that too as I like dinan stuff and already have their intake and piggyback tune on my car. However I've had my car since Dec and I'm getting tired of waiting for a company in the US to release an exhaust for it.

Honestly at this point I'm considering having a custom axel-back fabricated. Just hard to find someone in LA who can do quality custom work at the level I would want it.
I know a guy who does quality work with custom exhausts.

He made me a FCB system with x pipe and Borla race mufflers dual black tips for my E63 M6. I'm going to go by there next week to see what he can do for this car. Stay tuned.

Having something fabricated at the moment. Will likely need to dial in the tone with a resonator.

Basically a muffler delete, right?

Can you let me know how the drone is?

Thinking of doing this potentially..

Thanks!

Yeah, for the most part. Basically just made an x-pipe in stainless steel and put it where the muffler was. Mandrel bent and TIG welded.

I'll update once I pick the car up. Expecting it to be a bit loud with some drone since I have a catted DP as well but will continue to dial it in with the shop.

Damn bro sounds nice. I'm in SD but I might be willing to make a trip for this! You think it'll still drone even without a catted DP? Also will this route be much cheaper than..say an MPE? Oh also do you think they can find a way to re-use the stock exhaust valve?

That custom exhaust looks amazing! It's worth mentioning that it sounds like some of these companies are getting very close to production.

I've seen more and more companies like Remus and Akra touting their G42 CBE on YouTube.

Not sure how it'll be on stock downpipe but after driving it in traffic for an hour I can tell you that the drone from 2-3k is absolutely brutal. Was going to try driving it for a week before having it tweaked but might just have to bring it in tomorrow.

Price point is significantly less than MPE cost but if you were to go for a valved or more complex setup in stainless steel I would expect the price to begin to encroach on MPE range.

Might just be able to get a helmholtz resonator in there to reduce drone.. Not an exhaust expert though.

I was half expecting that - with the downpipe.

I want to know what it's like without the downpipe!!

Yeah I'm hoping j-pipes will do the trick. Volume and tone are perfect but the drone being at that RPM range is a killer in traffic.

If you don't have a downpipe though I would highly recommend it. That's where the exhaust tone I have now initially came from. This setup was essentially made to amplify it.
