JB3 map 3 VS JB4 map 1?

On a stock car, only 91 ocatane, what would the comparison be? Is the JB3 map 3 more aggressive then JB4 map 1? On my last car i tried JB3 on map 4 and 5 on stock car with 91 octane (some people on here said it would be fine) and i could hear/feel it running lean so i always ran map 3 unless i had race gas..

What you guys think? Im also at 4500ft elevation so im sure thats not helping with my 91 octane performance.

When I switched from the JB3 to the JB4 I did not like Map 1....maybe it was my car/mods. Map 5 has worked well for me....much better than Map 3 on the JB3.

Your using map 5 on the JB4 without race gas or meth??? Isnt that like a map 9 or 10 on the JB3? Im afraid for my 91 octane and stock car and high elevation that i will not be as satisfied with a JB4 on map 1 vs a JB3 on map 3.

It seems like the JB4 map 2 is to much for a stock car with only 91 octane? I really like all the cool options of the JB4 but if i can only run map 1 that will be the suck...

No, that is not the case. Map 5 is similar to Map 1, but it is a psuedo auto tuning map. It figures out the best conditions for YOUR car looking at YOUR mods and ambient condtions in YOUR area. It has no correlation to any Map on the JB3. Not relative.

If you are stock or have a DCI, you can run Map 1 or Map 5 with the JB4. Make sure you have the latest Interface Software and Firmware which can be found on N54 Tuning.com as they have made some significant improvements with the last two updates.

Also, learn how to use the steering wheel controls to change your settings!

Ok cool, have you ever dyno'ed your map 1 vs your map 5 on your jb4? Thanks for the useful info, map 5 sounds awesome esp with the usb hooked up.

No, have not dyno'd the car yet.

not sure how the USB makes anything sound different. Did I misunderstand?

Have you used the gauge highjacking features yet? You can open the oem exhaust flap full-time through one of the settings. That definitely makes the car sound better at idle.

^ I just meant that it sounds awesome like i cant wait to try that map, not the actual sound . Yea i seen the demo vids on all the cool options with the guage controls etc. I ordered JB4 last night
