My local dealer wanted $2k ADM and $2k for the privilege to order through them. Their logic was that the local Mercedes dealership were charging $10K over. Needless to say, went elsewhere and got the spec that I wanted and was happy to pay MSRP, service was also excellent.

Anyone still managing to order below MSRP without a military or BMW loyalty discount? Or is MSRP as good as it gets at this point, and there's little point searching for a dealer willing to knock $1k or $2k off the sticker price?

Idk about now, but I was able to get 3% off MSRP and the Military discount when I ordered my car back in August

Kind of reviving this. This is my first post and I'm getting ready to put down my deposit on an alpine white m240i.
Figured I would check the current market since we are in between 2022 and 2023 my. Has anyone been able to manage any discounts in this buyer unfriendly market?...outside of loyalty or military? Thanks |

Right now, I'm getting the same push back. Their sentiment is that I'm lucky that they are only charging msrp.
I have never paid msrp for a vehicle. Been lucky to negotiate below invoice on all of my vehicles, but this is the "new market" we're living in. To tell you the truth, I'm getting pretty tired of hearing that lol. On the bright side, I'm able to offset some of this with my trade in (toyota tacoma). Still, I figure I can manage some discount ordering a 22 right before the 23 models roll in. Too optimistic? I'm not ready to give up yet, but its not looking too promising. |

Given somewhat of a low value on a trade plus MSRP on the car. The "market" on long island/NY is brutal. Maybe I was just unlucky but multiple dealers stonewalled me. I figured it wasn't worth trying too hard especially since allocations were extremely hard to find and I really wanted the car.

I check AutoTrader like once a week to see how many 2022's are available, and as of right now, there are 36 used and new. Given that and how the car market is overall, I don't see anyone paying under MSRP for these anytime soon, except for extenuating circumstances.
I've read of people paying MSRP+ for these in certain markets so, I'll consider myself "lucky" that the dealer I'm going through isn't doing that, short of their doc fees. |

Yeah, they are all mostly in transit to fulfill orders. With that and allocations being in high demand, there is pretty much zero incentive for dealers to cut a good deal on new orders.

You'd be lucky to get a decent trade at this point as well because most dealers will know they will immediately sell the car if you walk away from an order if they end up lowballing at the end.

Did you ask the dealer if BMW is offering incentives for financing with them? I got $2K off and my deal gave me and additional $500 off and a vest lol when I asked; probably because I have been going there since 2007 and have three BMWs serviced there now.

If you immediately try to trade in your car with little to no miles, most dealers are only willing to offer mid-$40’s for a ~$55k MSRP car. CarMax will give you about $45,000. My own selling dealer offered $45k for my perfect $56k car literally 4 weeks and 1,000 miles later. This is very different from true MSRP and over cars, where they generally buy back cars for invoice or greater. Examples - M2 Competition, G80 xDrive.
People should absolutely be getting discounts on the G42 right now, especially on custom orders. Based on what they’re paying for trades, I think 4-6% off is the target for an allocated order. Cars already on the ground are likely a different story, though still worth a shot. |

Yeah it's not like these cars are collecting dust on the lots, they are in 'high' demand, I don't see a reason for them to discount. Speaking from no car salesman experience here.
