Who's waiting on an allocation?

I'm in the unfortunate position of waiting on an allocation (2 months and counting). I have placed a deposit with 2 dealerships, so hopefully one of them pans out in the next few days.

Post in this thread when you receive your allocation. I think it would be interesting to see when people start receiving the next rounds. Likely, it will be a 23 model, but my CA thinks theres still a sliver of hope that this next rd may get squeezed in as a 22 model. We will see.

Not sure how I feel about idrive8, but it isn't a deal breaker for me. I currently prefer the idrive7 interface, but trying to focus on the "positives" of idrive8 if the change is inevitable.

I'm in the same boat. I placed my order on 4/6 and still waiting for an allocation. Was texting with my CA and he thinks it will very likely be a MY23 build. I really don't mind it except for the lack of a gear lever!

Me.

Deposit placed in mid May. Dealer communicated a week 27 build date, but I'm skeptical.

Yep. Hopefully my dealership (Canadian) will have an allocation soon once the order guide and updated pricing is out for 23. Not like I can just skip to another dealership as they are almost all owned by the same group up here.

Allocations are scheduled to arrive in the next few days. I'm thinking Monday.

Wishing everyone on the "sidelines" luck with their allocations.

I have been on a list at my local dealership waiting on an allocation since mid March. Hoping I can finally put an order in soon.

I placed my deposit on 4/5 and I'm still waiting on my allocation as well. At this point, I'm going to switch to RWD and maybe add ACC since it was not available when I originally put my deposit down.

Looks like bmw is not releasing any allocations this round. We will probably have to wait until the order bank opens back up.

Unfortunate.

From what I heard, 2023 production begins in July, so if you're not allocated yet, you're likely getting a 2023. I'm build week 25, allocated early April, and hoping my build doesn't get pushed to July.

How do you know this? Are they not releasing any allocations at all or just for the M240i? And when does the order bank open again?

More an assumption. My CA told me they just received allocations for June and July and didnt receive any 2 series.

To my knowledge, dealerships didnt receive any m240s last month either.

It just seems like they're going to wrap up currently orders (MY 22). IMO order banks are currently closed for the m240 for a reason. If you cannot put in an order on the m240, it doesnt make sense to release allocations. Likely, they will reopen when MY 23 is ready to go.

I could be wrong, but it seems like thats our current situation.

I'd be in the same situation but I shopped dealers within a 500 mile radius after waiting almost 3 months for an allocation that never came. By great luck, one of the dealers I originally spoke to had a cancellation and I scooped up the allocation with just one day left to change the spec to my preferences. Since I already had a build code in mind, that went smoothly and I'm now on the board and scheduled for a "week 25" build. I assume my car will go to build status in about ten days or so.

I was lucky to have this drop in my lap but in some ways I can also say my dedication to finding a car helped a lot. I called over a dozen dealers and had decided just to wait it out when this allocation fell into my lap. I'll have to travel to the DC area to pick it up but I should have it by the end of the summer. I hope.

Got it. That was sort of what I was thinking as well. Clear out the 22s and allocations will be available once the 23s go live.

I’ve been waiting for allocation for over 2 months in the UK. Currently it seems to be blocked because my spec includes Technology Plus Pack (basically just adds Parking Assistant Plus) and the factory won’t allow this. Very frustrating and on the verge of pulling out!

Same here if I cannot get the spec I ordered way back in early March I'm gonna pull the plug, hopeless way of buying a Car.

Yeah it is super frustrating, as I now feel if I switch to something else I’m 3 months further back in the queue than I otherwise would’ve been.

The whole experience is putting me off from buying another BMW again

Maybe this will be allowed with the MY23?

Also, this is purely conjecture on my part but I think it makes sense. Let's assume that what RC84 is correct and there will be no more allocations given for MY22. MY23 is supposed to start production in August (I'm assuming the beginning of the month - based on this thread: https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=901686) so we should start to see allocations for MY23 maybe later this month/early July?

I thought MY23 cars are supposed to start production in July?

there are still a whole bunch of us that have allocations whose cars are not yet scheduled for production. I suspect they wont release allocations until those of us whose cars weren't able to be built for 2022 model get scheduled for 2023.

I had one scheduled for 22. Then was just at 111 in a waiting pattern. Made some changes to color and added ACC. The official site still shows old build. Dealer sent me paperwork showing the changes and it is now back to step 47. Whatever that means. I think late fall for delivery is realistic

Code 047 is order in, waiting for allocation I believe.

I think pretty much anyone that doesn't explicitly have a build week given at this point is going to be waiting until the MY23 allocations start going out. I'm hopeful I get mine in time to enjoy the summer tires at least for a little while before having to mount snows...
