Week 32 for our 2023 230i XDrive with every option. I was the one who placed the order July 16th and the dealer said it was a September allocation, but I just spoke to the BMW Genius and they said it was the 2nd week in August.

In St. Louis all 3 dealers got at least 1 M240i allocation and 2 got a 230i allocation. They all were still open as of last week, no one was waiting for a M240i. 1 230i allocation was available as of last week (I took one).

If you're 6th in line I'd guess you might be waiting a while but if you'd travel there's probably M240i allocations available at other dealers.

Yeah, you could be waiting a while. Might be worth doing what Rag9000 did, reaching out to other dealerships. I'd started doing the same before stumbling onto an open allocation in the Chicago area here on the forums. Since you're in Charlotte, you can order from any dealership in the country and have your car delivered 2 hours down the road to the BMW Performance Center in Spartanburg. One other bonus to this method is the dealership never gets their hands on the car so they can't install required add-ons (Hendricks likes to charge $1,000 for basically nothing.)

I ordered in March, and after numerous production delays I'm making the Charlotte to Spartanburg trip to pick up my M240i on Friday.

Either way, good luck getting your car!

I'm just nervous about signing for a car with no test drive prior to delivery. Did everything go smoothly for you?

I'll report back after Friday! But I trust that the Performance Center will do a good job with prep.

Before I placed my order, I'd driven one 230i at each of the Charlotte Hendricks locations, as well as a used M340i so I could get a better feel for the engine.

Actually I've heard Performance Center does an excellent job. Much better than any steelership.

So, delivery is Friday. When did you complete the paperwork? Was it much of a hassle?

Dealership started drawing up the paperwork as soon as we had the PCD date set, like 2 1/2 weeks out, then sent it my way. I overnighted it right back to em exactly two weeks out. Nice and easy.

dumb question: if i have a production number, does that mean i'm in the order queue? i'm just concerned why my production week is 43 (or so i'm told by dealer)...shouldn't it be more like 38?

You should be good if you have a production number. My status is: 047 - Spec. released-no quota

I see other people have been pushed out but when I spoke with the Genius crew this morning, they said I'm still showing as Week 31 build. Fingers crossed that actually happens.

Spoke to my SA this morning. Advised they will receive their next set of allocations the second week of August.

I wouldn't hesitate with performance center delivery. They are very professional and would trust over the dealer's minimum wage kids prepping my new car.

He sounded optimistic but I'm having a hard time buying it. I can't get them to fess up how many allocations they get on average. Realistically I'm hoping for September.
