Just hit 39 a few weeks back. 2nd Bimmer...had an E36 as my second car at the age of 17. Rocked an Eclipse, a couple Celicas (still have one), Lexus IS, '69 Z28, and others I "shared" with my wife.

If any of you young thundacats say I'm old, I'm gonna take your mom out for a nice seafood dinner, and never call her again.

41, second BMW. My first BMW was an 08 328xi which I hated and sold after a few months.

The M240 is tie with the S2000 for the best cars I've owned.

In my 60s, active in my BMW club. When my G42 finally arrives, it will be my second 2-series after an F22. In between, when it wasn't clear if a new 2-series was going to be made, I've had a MINI Clubman JCW, which is an M135i in disguise. 3 previous MINIs too, so sort of with the brand.

Excluding the 21 year-old son , almost identical profiles. Along with the aesthetics, the G42 had everything to become my new daily-driver and first coupe and BMW. After some initial discomfort (still a little in the neck area/headrest adjustment) I love every drive!

I was 17 when I took delivery of my 23’ G42 M240i which is financed, but I am now 18. I am aware 17/18 is really young but I’m very greatful to be where I am and having the ability to experience such a great car at this age.

66 years old. First BMW, 2022 M240i, BG... previous vehicle was an Audi S3. I was considering another S3, but for less money I chose the M240i. This BMW is a more powerful car than the Audi and has better driver-oriented features, including improvements in ergonomics and technology. I currently have 4500 miles since August, and this is the most fun car to drive that I've ever owned. This car is NOT a vehicle to haul stuff, nor is it for driving with passengers, this is a driver's car purely for driving enjoyment. I bought this car hoping to keep it for 8-10 years when electric(ish) cars with level 5 autonomous driving become available... Safe travels to all.

Previously I said this is my first BMW, but I guess that's not completely true. My ex-wife (while we were married) had a 3 series, but never considered it mine. It was a previous loaner base model and I never really got into it. However, I was able to make my son throw-up in the backseat from some aggressive mountain driving while in NM on a ski trip, so that was fun!

I also had a BMW GS1150 Adventure, and a BMW K1200LT. I almost ordered a new BMW R1250RT before ordering the M240i, but changed my mind at the last minute. It's still on my bucket list.

I’m 27. Haven’t picked it up yet due to a stop sale but this is my first car (&bmw). It’s always been a dream of mine to own a coupe and now after a lot of saving the last 6-7 years I’m able to buy one without sacrificing too much in the way of practicality. Looking forward to finally having a way to get myself around.

Ya know... it's truly refreshing to se so many younger people that understand the appeal of a smaller, sporty coupe. Where I live in the northeast it seems all I see are SUVs and trucks (I'm sure that 's the case all over). A lot of people just don't get it. I see even within the BMW enthusiast community a lot of folks that fancy their X3 m40s and the like as "sports cars". I'm sure they're great, but there is no substitute for cars like the 2 series (what's left of them, anyway). We are facing the end of an era. Let's enjoy 'em!

BMW wanted to market this car to a younger crowd, and it appears they're successful.

Personally, I'm a little surprised at the number of young people that can afford a $55-60K car, but then again this car's price isn't much different than most of the new trucks you see running around town, and they're about as exciting as a Mariah Carey song.

It's much more common now of days to see young people spending much more on cars. It being a smart financial decision or one you agree with is a different story. Just from people I know and have been around I wouldn't say everyone buying expensive cars can afford them in the tradition aspect of your pay vs % spent on cars.

Very true. I've heard my son several times recount comical stories of his master sergeants griping at E3's for having $1,000/month car payments.

36, glad to see people are a bit younger than the corvette crowd. I ordered my C7 when I was 30 whenever I went to a meet they used to tell me I was hanging out with my grandparents. This is my first BMW always been more of an Audi/VW but in the last 8-10 years I have owned an STI, Nismo Z, C7, Golf R and an S4. Figured it was time to give BMW a shot. So far I'm pretty impressed well see how it feels in a couple years but def enjoying it so far.

51yo here. 3rd beamer in a row. 2016 340i, 2018 340i, 2022 M240i. Was well on my way to my 3rd M340i then Putin invaded Ukraine and my order from the plant in Germany (Tanzanite Blue II is built there) got cancelled and an M240i allocation at my dealer opened up. As long as I had a B58/ZF8 combo in a small-ish vehicle I knew I would be a happy camper:-) I do miss the rear doors a bit, but I enjoy darting around in the smaller car more.
