Upgrade completed ok. But since all apps greyed out and lost Spotify off media options.

Tried I drive reboot and app refresh option no success. Driven car for over an hour and still to apps.

Any ideas?…

There’s a clear warning that some apps may take up to 24hrs to be working after the OTA update

Same for me after the update, lost the weather widget and weather app doesnt load anymore. Also remote start from myBMW app
doesnt work anymore, it would say successful on the app but when I get to the car the engine is not turned on like before. And I have a warning message on the infotainment screen saying that remote start didnt initialize to save coolant/battery or something like this...Also when I make phonec calls on my Skype app while connected to Android Auto, after a while into the conversation my Samsung S22+ freezes and need to reboot the phone but I can still talk until rebooting or until disconnecting from the car and/or leaving the car (still not sure if this is caused by the car's update or my Skype's latest update / my phone's latest OS update/ my Android Auto's latest update).
On the plus side after the update, I gained a small icon on the instrument cluster screen saying how much extra KMs I gained since the start of my trip in ECO Pro mode and also it has a BLue color when I drive efficiently and Grey Color when I dont.
Also immediately after the update , I noticed my total range for that current trip, for the remaining fuel, have suddenly increased by a good amount. And finally I noticed that the overall volume output increased for my Tunein App and/or for all my music apps (maybe they've added extra codecs for the audio formats ? / have the Haman Kardon sound system).

Update progressed smoothly and completed in under 1 hour. Have not driven since then, so cannot comment on any changes. A quick glance at some of the settings seems to be the same as prior.

All very good observations for me to be aware of when I go out later today.

UPDATE:

Starting the car revealed some of the same observations: weather widget is no longer present; however, icon app is still there; nothing happens when you press it. Will wait the 24 hours to see. Other settings were reset to factory. For example, remote start needs to be reactivated. Phone app showed preconditioning, but car did not turn on. After going through most of the settings again for the past 1-1.5 hours, I think I have it back to previous choices.

The car seems to shift more smoothly - psychosomatic? This is in Comfort, Auto S/S Off, Auto Hold ON.

Next, will check the functionality of the digital key. Since I do not have the proper model Samsung phone (I have the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra), I know I cannot use my phone as a key. Also, I had not been able get the credit card digital key to work although it is set up. I will check later to see if the update rectified anything.

Got same issue here with my F44 m235i. Updated the software and weather app and some other apps gone grey and nothing happen when I pressed it. Anyone has any updates after 24 hours wait? Are they coming back?

The fact that our settings are not retained after the update is a massive oversight and so frustrating. We should not have to do any of this. Bimmercode stuff, yeah obviously not a problem there. But my seat position that is supposed synced to the profile? That's ridiculous.

Shoot. Didn't notice the seat position...

I guess that would mean it did not reset or so little I did not notice. Probably the former since I have had a very challenging time finding the proper adjustment; I am very aware of subtle changes.

Amazing how inconsistent our experiences are for the same update.

Update just arrived on my id7 car. Anyone done the update on id7 yet? Pretty sure the previous big update only arrived within the last month or 2. Don’t want to lose the nice pops and burbles the last update added

It’s your choice, but you’ll never receive another OTA update as they are incremental - won’t install the latest until all previous updates are installed.

Make sure you put your parking brake on when you leave your car, or the update will not run. It's on that checklist that appears briefly in the set up message.
Also, "Remote Engine Start" will be deactivated after running a "Remote Software Upgrade" EVERY TIME, so you will have to go into the climate control - preconditioning- remote engine start, and check the box again to re-activate the feature.

I feel like the steering has been improved. The on center feel is better and there’s more bite in a corner. I feel like I know better what the car is doing. Call me crazy.

Also, there’s an adaptive screen I never noticed before that tells my horsepower, torque, etc. Maybe I didn’t notice before because I had a weather widget before that was taking up space.

I'm in the same boat app tells me to go to car to finish update car just says will resume automatically shortly its been stuck there for a couple days now. Probably just have the dealer take a look whenever I get it in for the recall on rear airbag cover.

I’ve just completed the update and can confirm no issues on id7. Spotify, weather apps all still work (straight after update). All settings seem to have saved and still some nice pops on start up. I can’t comment on steering feel someone else mentioned as I’ve not driven it yet

Mine is stuck on “searching for upgrades…” for a few days now. So I guess the update is something I’ll have to address at the dealership.

Anyone noticed a new display mode? Allen on YouTube showed a little of it. Seems like perhaps this mode only shows when route guidance is active via google maps on an android. But that seems awfully specific to me.
