I was trying to figure out why Auto Hold was not activating consistently. Now I know why. Tested on my commute in and you need to give the brake pedal a more firm press, beyond just coming to a complete stop with the brake pressed lightly. Same as what people are saying about Auto Stop/Start.

Absolutely love my M240i. A few things that could have made it even better IMO:

- Steering feel (I was spoiled by the steering feel of my 2013 335is)
- Would have liked a perforated flat-bottom steering wheel
- Ventilated seats (that would require perforated leather seats)
- M-sport seats available in the US. I love that option on the Euro G42s and would have paid for it 100%

The Mexican models get the M Sport Seats. I wonder how much it would cost to get 2 from Mexico? Hm...

The lane departure thing (not sure what it’s called) almost threw me into another car on the first day when the road had a small zigzag.

Remember, if you jump in the car and forget you left your key in the house and think, "I'll just use my phone as the key for this short errand." and take off and go into cardiac arrest when you change lanes w/o a blinker, the reason is your saved profile settings are likely only on your key and not your phone. When you're used to driving for a year w/o the intervention, and then it suddenly intervenes, it's eye opening!

[QUOTE=dy444;30401585]I have 3 rather than one. I admit they are generic G platform/iDrive 8 rather than G42 specific

Voice control. I've had a love-hate relationship with this on previous generation iDrives - mainly hate actually. Everybody and his wife said it was now a wonder and we didn't need the climate and memory buttons. Well it isn't. When I first got the car, it seemed to work ok most of the time. Over time though it's got worse and worse and it now frequently takes 2 or 3 goes for it do what I've asked for. Mostly it does nothing but sometimes it does something completely different to what I've asked which is annoying and often a distraction whilst you try to unpick what it did and get back to where you were. Some things it just won't do - occasionally it tells you that the thing in question is not available via voice control but mostly it just sits there. It is living down to my worst pre-purchase concerns.

I agree the voice controls are horrible. I attempted to use it twice to see what it could do.
Once I asked it to turn off the AC. So it turned off the entire climate system.

The second time I asked it what time was it? Thought that would be easier. Nope couldn’t answer that question. Kinda just froze up for a minute.

I’ve managed to live my life without.

Encountered similar issues, drove thru highway construction zone where they put concrete barriers right on the white line on the outside, while inside/left line shifting thru middle of the lane, the car went berserk, nearly side swiped the barrier and then over correct itself nearly went into the dirt where they digging up the concrete surface.

The steering intervention only work sometimes, when it does? It’s usually late and very aggressive pulling itself.

Has anyone tried Sprint Mode? I saw a video where it seems to be made for this very purpose.

One thing i don't like is not having wired carplay, wireless is handy but it has a lot of drawbacks, i just wish i could have it wired like on my other cars

Mentioned in post 35 on this thread. It’s quite handy, just pull and hold the left paddle.

The only critique I have (other than not having ventilated seats) is that sometimes when I turn the car on, it doesn't start playing audio from the Bluetooth device that was playing when I last turned the car off.

Yep. I prefer just to downshift the left paddle. Responds quicker than holding it until the transmission drops to the lowest safest gear. One downshift with the torque of the B58 is sufficent for most instances to execute a quick pass.

I agree. I only use sprint mode for very safe and legal roll races.

after 3 months of ownership, I have to say the thing I hate the most is the placement of the AC vents. With my normal driving position, my right hand gets blasted with AC and everything else barely gets a draft lol
