Swapping open diff to LSD

Hey guys, I have a 2022 230i with everything but the dynamic handling package. I am planning to swap the open diff to the factory LSD but not sure if I have to get it done at the dealership, I wonder if changing the diff requires anything done to the car's computer.

Swapping the rear differential at a BMW dealership ? That's likely to run you what - $2,000 to $3,000 ?

This is something i'm also interested in, i read somewhere that the m diff needs coding after the installation, i don't know if it's something only bmw dealerships can do

I'd consider getting it done at the dealer. Should come with a warranty on both labor and parts. And ideally should not affect the new car warranty. But you'll have to confirm the above.

Plus if the diff swap requires any changes to the car's computer systems the dealer should know.
