I have a theory that the black wheels look fine at stock height as the wheel, tire and wheel arch all blend in together.

Anyone else notice the messy double sided tape on the spoiler? particularly on white.

The spoiler came off for PPF so it's much better now.
I pulled my stock spoiler off yesterday in prep for the new RW Carbon lip spoiler. The amount of adhesive used for the stock lip spoiler is way overkill.

Getting ready to pull mine off tomorrow or Friday. What did you use to get the excess adhesive off of the trunk?

Hair dryer, string, Goo Gone ( probably not the best solution) and a flexible plastic scraper. Then cleaner to get the Goo Gone off. I then put on the new spoiler, and rewaxed the whole trunk.

The process was a pain in the neck. Maybe mine had baked in the Mexican sun for too long.

Be very patient. It takes a lot of time and elbow grease.

I'll PM you for sure about the courses in that area!

I'm glad to hear it's not too bad with scraping. But you bring up a good point about the speed bumps and the exhaust. I feel like I have a few of those in my area that I'll have to remember to take a certain way for sure.

Thanks!

I heated the old one with a hair dryer. Then used a plastic bondo squeegee and pulled that back through it while my son carefully lifted on the spoiler. By heating and working slowly it came off nicely.

As for the leftover adhesive ( which was a lot ), I tried a few things. Goo Gone ( citrus stuff ) was too weak.

Goof Off Professional ( chemical stuff ) I was going to try as I had some in my house. But after reading the label I thought it might be too strong.

I had a can of 3M Adhesive Remover. What I found best was to heat the adhesive with the hair dry, spray a bit of the 3M on it and let it set for minute or two. Then I would take the sharp edge of a plastic trim tool and "scratch it" kind of breaking it up with lines.

Next I took the bondo squeegee and lightly scraped it off. Once done with that I put some 3M on a rag and wiped what was left.

I then wiped it down with 70% IPA and followed it with a light polishing using my random DA and some polish. Took about an hour from when we started until I was done buffing. Would have went much quicker if they didn't lay the factory adhesive on so thick and wide.

I was driving around yesterday and some guys with cameras waved me over and asked to take pics of my car. They sent me this shot and then mentioned they could do a photoshoot for cheap if I wanted. I am sooo in love with this car!

Had to capture the result of an hour spent cleaning the wheels before they were covered in brake dust 50 miles later.

The stock / OEM brake pad dust level is a major PITA & the struggle is real. Good weather & great location for an afternoon photo though. Was this the parking structure near the Best Buy in Santa Row... ?

It really is. I feel like I have to clean the wheels every time I fill up the tank just to keep up.

Yep, it sure is! The first pic is also in Santana Row on one of the side streets.

Nice! Are those stock wheels powder coated? Do you mind sharing color specs. Looking for something similar.

Yup, let me ask them to confirm, it was a three stage powder coat.

Is it just me or does anyone else notice varying ride heights on stock setups?

yep, think it's a combination of different camera angles, brand new cars vs ones with at least a few thousands miles on them that settles the springs a bit, and lots of people getting the MP HAS port installed on these cars.

....and also shipping blocks being left on cars
