As much as we think of it that way, if they make more money on EV's it's still a business.

The i4 is built in Munich. The LCI 3 series for North America was moved from Munich to Mexico for EV expansion there.

Good luck, almost impossible to find an allocation here in Canada, guess all production is staying in the US..

Hopefully we get some reviews sometime soon to hold people over. I don’t think I’ll make the jump but it’s always fun to watch content on new m models

It isn't.
They sold 21,077 X5's for Q3 2022 in the US at probably an avg of $75k a pop compared to around 1500 2 series for the same quarter. And I'm just mentioning one model. They sold 13K X3's. To get an idea on sedans, they only sold 5,337 3-Series for the quarter. How many M2's do you think they are going to make and make available for the US? |

The electric priority rumour makes no sense to me - Mexico only builds 3er & 2 Coupes.
There is a backlog getting cars out of Mexico by sea - my 230i built in October is still waiting for a boat - could they just be running out of space or something??? NA cars shouldn't be affected by that though. Dunno. |

As to why they might be filling EV orders I’ll give my example. I paid a deposit to pre-order my i4 M50 beginning of June 2021. Got delivery in late November 2022. A full 18 months later. And there are some pre orders which haven’t been filled yet.

Dealers have been dealing with inventory issues for a couple years now. What is the fastest growing segment...SUVs? What is the quickest way to get more vehicles to US dealers, vehicles that the majority of customers want...prioritize SC plant during supply chain issues?
