Yeah, I've had the very first of the last three iterations of the M3/M4 Coupes ('01, '08 & current '15) When the G82 came out I did not have the same drive to preorder. Looking seriously at the G87 as an alternative.

It’s a good time to trade “down”. We recently traded my 8y old F80 for a 2022 M240i for my wife. Almost a one for one trade with pocket change difference. The G42 is an absolute charmer, yes it has the faults of all modern BMWs of numb steering and it’s front end grip and general robustness can’t compare with an M car but somehow it’s just a riot to drive. If you just let it do it’s thing and stop obsessing over details it will win you over. The B58 iin this tune is superb and relentlessly dishes out anything you ask of it. The G87 is going to be one heck of a car

If my experience with the M240 is any indication I truly believe the G87 will be the best M car BMW will be making. The G42 chassis along with the B58 is fantastic, with an S58 it's going to be glorious. |

Then again if the comp or CS comes with MT it might just have to be solved with his/hers. |

Had a 2020 M240i, liked it a lot, especially the size. Taking delivery of M4CX in few weeks, but the smaller 2 series is my preference. I'd take an auto....and AWD.

Seems we're not going to be given that choice.

I understand, however car isn't even out yet and there should be several M2 models, so perhaps they offer the auto/awd on one 🤞

Seems that a lot of people are inquiring about this as well. Might I suggest you create a thread with voting to see what the take rate is. BMW follows most of the chatter on this forum; if enough people ask for it they will consider it. I could create the thread myself, but I have zero interest in xDrive.

Hard to say...I know there's a petition with 50k signatures for the G81 to come abroad floating around here.

I was at my dealer today and one of the managers said the official reveal should be in July. August/September for the ordering guide and October/November for allocations with production starting in December.
