CF inlet/duct options?

I like the look of the CF duct, but it reaaaaaaaly bugs me that it requires chopping up standard equipment and gluing the duct into place. A. If you get sick of the carbon or damage it and want to go back to OEM, you can't because it's been cut up / roughed up for adhesion. 2. I don't understand why Germans would engineer everything to the nth degree and be like, ehhh, let's glue this thing on!

Anyone else have this dilemma?

I wonder if any manufacturers are planning a plug and play CF (or black) duct insert? IE, with clips and such, where the OEM black insert could be removed, the camera transferred onto the CF, and clipped back into place. Couldn't be that hard.

Destruction + glue just seems like a silly option for a mild aesthetic improvement/change.

Thats why a number of us are paying to have port installed. It becomes a stock item and falls under the full 4year/50,000 warranty.

If your real concern is you may want to get rid of the cf/remove it, then its probably not something you really want.

It's more of a philosophical conundrum—the idea that inclusion precludes one's ability to change. I'll probably do it. Did you go with the CF diffuser too?

No, just the inlets for M Performance carbon parts (for the aforementioned reason).

We have got one coming with the CF inlets and rear diffuser port installed.

Customer order. It more than likely will not be on site very long. They have requested PDI only. It will be immediately going to a detailer for new car prep and PPF.

I'm waiting for an aftermarket solution that doesn't require cutting the OEM ducts.

Warranty vs no warranty....that is what you really need to ask yourself. Plus, if port installed, they are considered stock to the car and will be on your window sticker.

I was struggling with this for the very same reasons but I ended up keeping them on my order. I’m happy with them overall but I still don’t like that I just can’t simply remove them if I wanted to do something different.

Fair points. I'll keep the port install.

Lets see, if it comes apart, cf has issues (cracking, fading, etc) or the bumber is further damaged from the cutting/install...yup, that classifies as warranty fix and free to me.

There are a few I've seen that have a cutout around the sensor. Not sure if it would look as good w/ the black sensor and rest carbon though.

Yup this right here. Covered if needed exactly why i also went this route. If you're wanting to swap out suggest this route. Or wait for something after market that installs more bumper friendly?
