Front glossy black lower section of bumper scratched?

Got my M2. Love it. Upon detailing. I realized that the front glossy lower part of the car, near where a splitter would go, is roached out with micro scratches. I demanded delivery with all factory coverings, but apparently this one was removed at port during the MPHAS installation. It's almost like a piece of fabric whipped it in the wind or something. Anyone else's look like this

I guess I'll be hitting it with polishing liquid and a fine buffing pad before installing my ceramic coat. Black painted plastic is the absolute worst, huh?

Indeed, piano blacks are the absolute worst.

Definitely tough to keep swirl free – similar to shadowline window trim. Having the swirls dealer-installed is a special treat, sorry to hear that. Got a picture for us?

Mine was full of swirls upon delivery. So far 2 out of 2 have been this way. I don't know what they do between SLP and the VPC, but it is not easy on the black surfaces.

Applying PPF film over the scratches seemed to make mine look 100% flawless

Yup even if not doing full ppf, ie only front, adding the piano black insert pieces/trim is 100% the way to go.

Seems like a smart idea, not really planning on doing ppf but might do this

I had mine corrected PPF and ceramic coated. Still looks perfect after 1000 miles

If left unprotected, this only gets worse as time goes on. I have the same issue with my G80 Competition - except worse as it is also gloss black down both side skirts of the car and on the mirror caps. It looks great when clean and well protected, otherwise it will drive you nuts. I sometimes wish I could "unsee" these things, haha.

That "protection" doesn't cover the entire portion anyways. I polished it and had it PPF'd and now it looks 100% and will stay that way.

Probably no point in doing the gloss diffuser right?

Don't think it's necessary. I did polish and ceramic coat it though but it was pretty flawless to begin with.
