Well, now that I actually have to do a do-over, I'm sticking to deleting HUD. Color will change VooDoo Blue or the purple that's supposedly coming. Interior color will likely change to Cognac. Add heated steering wheel.

Rest stays same; shadowline + lighting, carbon roof, carbon interior trim.

Wheels matter little as I'll be going back to Richland Forged most likely.

High probability of speccing M performance HAS at port as well.

If I could do it again I would leave out wireless charging. I have the 6MT and it is useless and takes up space in the console. Live and learn.

Anyone who got the bucket seats regret it?

Anyone who didn't get buckets wish they did?

Hmm… I have been MIA more lately, but did they decide to total your car?

I am repeatedly advising clients whom are ordering the 6MT to skip the wireless charging. I had one client that was adamant on ordering it. He’ll figure out it sucks and the hard way.

damn. I haven't even gotten the car and am mad I opted for the charger now lol.
I'll likely only keep gum& sunglasses in there. worst case is the next owner things "cool it has wireless charger" idfk

to clarify - if not using the WC, the center console does have a usbc slot to plug the phone in normally and hide it in there, right?

I elected to take cash settlement when costs rose to near 33K but more importantly, many parts are on back order "indefinitely." Mainly don't want to sit around waiting for who knows how long.

I then sold it AS IS to the buyer that was interested before. It's now in his hands.

All that said, with the new features of the 2025MY, most importantly colors (but the 20HP doesn't hurt), figured I might as well wait to order one of those next summer. I'm first in line for a 2025 allocation at my dealer.

Plus it gives me time to recover from the loss.

AFAIK you get the USB-A and USB-C ports whether you opt for wireless charging or not.

Note that the USB-C port is power only, no data. You can't play MP3s through it.

Wait, so you’re saying you can’t connect the phone via car play then via a hard line? How do you connect the phone to the car then only Bluetooth…? That’s not going to be great. Anyone with a manual transmission and and iPhone who can update us on connectivity would be greatly appreciated! Thank you’

The usb-a can do the media connection, usb-c in center console can not.

I do not know if you can run Apple Carplay (or Android Auto) through a wired connection to the USB-A port. I've never tried.

AFAIK all BMWs are wireless Apple CarPlay only. No wired support in any vehicles.

I use CarPlay wirelessly in my 2024 X5 while the phone rests and charges on the wireless pad. With it not being there I was curious if I could hard line in to change and connect to idrive 8 or whatever version the 24 M2’s are coming with (8.5…?).

I plug mine into the USB-C in the arm rest to charge when connected wirelessly. It's a 3A charger compared to the 1.5A from the USB-A so it works great (except when I leave it in the car - I miss the phone nanny from my Audi S4 I sold a few years ago)

Plugging into the A port doesn't do anything with car play. I tried before reading bmw doesn't do wired. Wired doesn't really get you much since audio is over wifi not Bluetooth and is the same bitrate as wired CarPlay

I know you did not ask but I got the buckets and love them. I had the G42 so I have a good comparison. The buckets make the car feel much more special and highly recommend them. That being said if you can go to dealership and sit in them I recommend it.

I also had a 2020 GT4 with carbon buckets and the BMW seats are much more comfortable due to adjustability.
