Cockpit Pro w/ head up display option

What does this package actually get you besides the head up display function?
Anybody know?

Thanks

Snarky answer is to please search before asking. This has been asked before.

But yes, that's all the option is.

I have M-specific content on my iDrive 8... can anyone without this HUD feature confirm if they have the "M drift analyzer" and "M lap timer" apps? That may be another difference in addition to the HUD.

Edit: I turned off HUD this week. It was irritating.

No HUD on my car, “M drift analyzer" and "M lap timer" apps are available.

Can you confirm that a steering wheel also comes with it?

Sounds like the M specific content is there either way. Maybe they mean it shows up on HUD if you also have that.

Good to know! Maybe you could summarize it for us here?

(Seriously, good information, I read a few pages of it)

Anyone having this trouble?

Every time I adjust the height of my HUD it reverts back on its own. Gonna talk to my SA when I drop it off for break in service tomorrow, but just wanted to check here.

Nope. It stays where I put it.

I was having the same issue. It was because I didn't log into my bmw profile with the key I was using or something like that. It drove me crazy. Make sure you're signed into your driver profile, then adjust it. It should save as long as you have it set to use that profile with the key you're using. If you're using the digital key, you might need to save it there as well.

I'm definitely connected with my bmw profile and the key. The weird part is it keeps my brightness and rotation settings, just not the height.

It syncs to your seat memory.
So, if you hit that button for some reason, it’ll reset it.

Next time (this assuming you are logged in and are using the same fob):

Set the height
Set the seat memory!
Done.

I had feeling me moving my seat around so much might be a factor, I will double check tomorrow. Thanx!

I felt a bit stupid when I “learned” it, because I felt like I needed to have read the manual or something earlier. It kept moving away from me and I’m like “why”. Many times over…

And then it hit me that it moved back to what was configured with my position 1 for seat/mirror preset… smart that it does that. All we’re missing is an electric steering column to make the presets almost perfect (well the interior mirror would make it “perfect”).
