Engine stop start activation

Hi all
First time bmw owner, just got my g87 m2 in zandvoort blue. So far loving it and cant wait for the engine break in mileage to get completed so that i can finally see what all the fuss is about….😆
I have a question about the stop/start function, i hate the feature and always deactivate it before i start driving, is there an option where i can just simply turn it off for it to not get activated again when i turn on the car again. It seems it resets when we switch off the engine. Apologies if this question has been asked before, still very new to bimmers and this forum.
Thanks

You turn it off once, it should stay off. Also, you turn it off for the M1 & M2 buttons by hitting the setup button.

As always, it's beneficial to read the owner's manual

Thanks all, i will dig deeper into the settings and see if i am missing anything. Just for context, i always switch it off from the console button and have not looked into the detailed settings. I have not been using any sport or m1/m2 settings as it only has 314 kms so far on the odo and i have another 1700 to go before i open the taps.

On both of my M vehicles I turned it off once from the console button & I've never had to turn it off again (10k & 7k miles respectively).

I've also only had to turn mine off once, never had to touch it again. Looks OP is in Dubai so maybe it's a regional thing?

I had mine off since original delivery but after I did the recent software upgrade it was back on. I turned it off (on the console) again and it stays off.

Freaked me out when the car died at an intersection.

It seems its some regional thing as i dont have this in the driver settings in the menu. Its just a stupid annoyance. For me before i head out i just push the button to deactivate…

A completely irritating and unnecessary feature.
Thankfully it can be disabled.

Hi, start stop memory can be coded into the car. It is definitely a regional setting as to whether it is activated from factory.

I can help, DM me or visit @fireorange_g82cx on Instagram.

On my car (US version) I turned it off before I left the dealer and have never had to touch it since.

I guess i am the lucky one…..😀 i will speak to the service team when i take in my car for the 2000kms break in service. Will update. I am aware this can also be coded easily through bimmercode but i dont wanna start tinkering with the factory code with just 500 kms on the odo.

So it seems that the engine start stop only remains active when driven in standard driving mode with everything dialed to comfort….M1 & M2 has an permanent option to disable this. Havent used m1 or m2 so far as i am still babying it cos of the engine break in period. After that i will keep it in M1 permanently for daily driving.

For me, it doesn't matter what the drive settings are, once it's off it's off.
