Hello, I know this is not the proper engine thread. I have a 2019 330i b46tu with catless downpipe running a custom e-85 tune. I recently changed my spark plugs less than 400 miles ago, coil packs have 26k miles, and I keep getting these crazy timing corrections despite being full e-85 and using E that tests right at 85%. Tuner said my e quality seems bad but I always test it before it goes in and my station is consistent at 84-86% . B58tu HPFP, 8 speed auto transmission, EWG, I noticed in one of the logs it flags a torque limit flag early on before the pull and thats when it pulls timing. I didn't look at your logs, as I'm on mhd, but regarding e85 quality...

Take a look at this link, a supplier in California started using naptha to replace the gasoline component of e85 (to reduce amount of gasoline in e85):

But do some googling on naptha. It's white gas. It's octane rating is horrible, like 70 or something - too low for use in spark igniton engines. So e85 made with naptha will have a lower overall octane rating than e85 made with gasoline.

If your e85 is not performing as expected for e85, it could be you're using e85 with naptha in it. Try getting gas from a different station/company.

Edit: that link says their fuel has an octane rating over 100. But I'm guessing it's just slightly over 100 vs. normal e85 I think is around 109 octane rating?

Since I didn't look at your logs, it's not clear to me if you're getting timing corrections due to knock (poor fuel) or you're hitting a torque limit and the DME is reducing timing to limit torque.

Im currently using 76 E-85, and also tried pearson fuels e-85 but it didnt test as high for ethanol percentage. I will try to look into that, thank you!
