Thanks Tim, saw you in Joe Achilles’ video the other day!

I hope we haven’t overstepped the mark, but everyone seemed quite relaxed about letting me in. The good news is, my visit has 100% firmed up my order, and seems to have helped out quite a few others in answering questions they had about the cars.

I think we all understand they’re pre-production models with a few bits missing. Having said that, they all looked to be high quality already, so the final versions should be top-notch.

Bro which old BMW? It doesn't even have trim surrounding the grille. No chrome or gloss black like every other "old" BMW.

I was referring to the size… no need to be so aggressive lol.

Lol is the trim really more important than the shape? Besides, there was at least a couple other BMWs with no grille trim

Exactly the shape is perfect , personally my favorite grill from the current BMW lineup.

I kinda dig the missing surround trim , unique to the platform. And an easy mod if
one doesn’t like the look.

The M2 has the least controversial grill to be honest . Especially compared to the X5/X7 , M3/M4 , 7 series , M340i/M440i , etc ..

In the age of huge oversized grills , this a complete winner . The horizontal slats are actually very aggresive & so far seem exclusive to the G87

Well said. Agree completely. The G87 is by far an aggressive and decisive style compared to most of the BMW offerings now. Has touches of 'heritage' around it and is far more distinctive than the M3 or M4.

Yep likewise. My chaperone was very clear that the cars were pre-production units. I was really appreciative of the opportunity to see them in the flesh having placed an expression of interest close to 2 years ago having been a life long BMW driver. Having an April build slot I was keen to ensure that I wasn't going to regret my spec.

Perhaps it's just me but there does seem to have been far more opportunities to the cars (albeit pre-production models) in the flesh in the US and even in some part of Europe compared to the UK.

How do you get in to see them? Call up and pre-book or just turn up? It’s about a 2 hour drive from me, whilst I’m happy to make the trip prior to confirming my build it’s a long way to go to be turned away. Thanks for any insights

I don’t know about managerxxx, but I just turned up & asked nicely. Tim King in the post above is I think reasonably high up in BMW GB so may have put the kibosh on further visits though, if they’re not keen on randomers seeing the pre-production cars. Not sure I’d risk a 2 hour journey for it tbh…

Appreciate the feedback. I’m planning to order TR and the M highlight seats. If they are both onsite, but I am not able to view them it will be really frustrating TBH
