I asked my dealership in Marbella, Spain, which of the two tyres I'd get. He said the factory told him "whichever is available at the time of manufacturing". They won't actually know until the car arrives at the dealership essentially.

I’ve been in the BMW community long enough to know the game with opinions lol. People see YT reviews and online articles and get overwhelmed with different comparison opinions, 0-60 times, driving dynamics comparison with the M performance car (M240i) vs M high performace car (M2), all up and down that ladder, and haven’t even driven the car. (Or maybe even the M performance for that matter)
My statements are in fact my opinion as a performance driving instructor for many years driving many M cars (M performance and M high performance). I pay a lot more attention to actual driving dynamics than most due to my experience so I try my best to relay those opinions, some appreciate that and some challenge (which is fine). And then there are the trolls which we all easily spot anyways.
If we didn’t have opinions we wouldn’t have different options on our cars lol.

but everyone is different. back when i had a 335i M sport i moved to a F80 M3 and the difference was quite noticeable to me.

seems like the gap between M sport (m240 and m340) and an actual M is shrinking, thanks to the non Ms getting a diff, same auto trans as the M models, and a more flexible b58 that pulls up top better than the n55 did.

M performance (M240i) are engineered by M division just like M high performance (M2) which are different than “M sport” which is only aesthetic vs actual mechanical engineering. N55 is not an M engine, B58 is an M engine so there’s a bit of difference there as well. M performace and M high performance are both M cars in different segments, “M Sport” aesthetic packages can be added to most BMW cars regardless of segment so there is a difference.

I plan to PPF my BSM with Xpel stealth. I wonder if I'll be (one of) the first here to do that. There is a good possibility I'll get my allocation during the next round.

Def best color IMO, that’s the color I had for my order, but cancelled. Very clean looking. Black looks mean too, but need to PPF it before driving or it immediately becomes “black scratch metallic”
