does anyone like it?

Really? Does anyone like it? As the owner of a M2 CS manual I bought brand new, I’m wondering if I should take either G87’s(manual and auto) I have available to me? I may enjoy a M340ix more as a daily.

I think you should follow your heart and not let others spend your money for you.

But if you have a M2 CS, keep it. If you are looking to step up you can only really go to Porsche. 991 T would be the best next step for you, or a GTS

Who do you mean by "anyone?" "Influencers?" Journalists? Us?

I, for one, love it.

Most journalists are speaking highly of it as well.

Are you being swayed by an "influencer?"

Oh, trust me I’m keeping the CS! I’m looking for a daily driver and figured a regular production M2 might’ve a good choice.

If you already have a CS, then the new M2 makes even more sense as a DD since it seems it fits that role better than the f87. Plus each car will have a distinct character.

That's honestly a great question, and I don't know. I already have one specced out that's waiting for transport. I'm going to thoroughly sit in the HEA model and drive it. I really do love my F87C and want to really be blown away by the G87 when I see it in the flesh. The reviews seem to be a mixed bag, which sucks because when the F87C came out, it was to universal praise.
The F87C may in fact be the Ultimate Driving Machine and i'm hoping that the G87 is the same way, not 70% or 80%. I would have wanted it to be 120%. I'll report back after I have seat time.

Not really sure what this question is asking?

The reviews have been mostly positive, a baby m4 that's a bit more focused and less rowdy than the previous gen m2. That sounds great to me but its up to you if it suits you. Your f87cs is a gem of a car so I couldn't blame you hanging in to it. A g87 as a daily would probably be a riot, but I don't think I would ever own to cars that are so similar. I prefer more variety in my life.

I think the f87 looks a little fem. I much prefer the G. I look forward to seeing it in the flesh in a week or two. BUT, I think the 87 CS is a super special car, one of bmws best

Nope. Absolutely no one likes it. Literally everyone is saying it's the worst car ever made. The looks of an Aztek with the performance of a Yugo.

Move along and never look back.

I have plenty of variety but no great daily driver really. Several old BMW’s truck and Jeep and all, but would love a good solid fun daily.

No. We hate it. We obviously are just spending $70,000 as a prank bro.

-i paid off my f80 m3 years ago.
-wanted to like the g80...nope
-so i moved to an f87 comp, basically the same money just a bit more, to cure the boredom and wait for the M2... nope its ugly too and heavy. the zf8 isn't as good as dct. it makes power, but any 3.0tt can make power. interior, tech, and all that is A+ though... but at the price delta a car needs to offer me more than that.

maybe i can be convinced if i see an all black one with some stance to fill out the wheel wells in the future. time will tell

Do you have any kind of rough ETA for when you might get to take delivery of it?

I think a lot of people feel the direction they took with this Gen was away from the original mission. Especially the British journalists seem off-put that the car is not a tiny agile cart. Ironically, the Supra has that wooly feel and they crapped on that too..for being wooly. Haha!

I wanted something with the modern feel and tech of the new M3 platform, but not the size of an old M5. I've never driven the previous M2, so I have no comparisons in my head. But making the new M2 the same size as the E92 makes it desirable for me. And as a Daily driver, it is probably an ideal size, and has some great handling and performance chops.
Remember that only a few years ago, Porsche fans were up in arms that they abandoned the 997 chassis, with all its off pogoing, leaning, understeering, oversteering and porpoising. The 991 had a front end that gripped and felt modern (oh the horror!). I sold my 997 and bought a 991, and it was a better car. (albeit larger and heavier too). Here we are a few decades later and no one is riled up about the direction the 911 took. BMW made the same choice. Some will lament, others will rejoice.

Sidebar: I owned an E46M3 for quite some time...a friend of mine let me drive his minty one the other day. I was like, "I don't remember the steering being so lazy, the chassis leaning so much, the odd handling balance, and the numb shifter". Progress is not always a price.

If you're cross shopping a m340 and M2 it is a no brainer. Get the M2.

Zero chance you will be better off or have more fun in any respect (other than needing 4 doors) with the m340. Depreciation alone would make the M2 worth it over the M340.

I love reminding Porsche owners how the current 911 is 300-400lbs heavier than it was in 2019. Really riles them up.

I'm assuming it's going to take a couple of months to get here from Mexico, so probably June. Supposedly there's 27 other people in line for a car behind me and according to the SA, they're expecting 1 to 2 M2s a month so that's quite a wait.

I mean, I like it. I like it a lot. If I had an M2CS though I would probably be getting something different as my daily.

I'm OK with perhaps being in the minority that prefers the new G87 exterior to the F87's, even the M2 CS. For me, the F87 is too soft and round and not aggressive-looking. I admit however that I want to use the M Performance carbon fibre front air intakes in my G87 to improve the look of the front, but that's a minor gripe I have.

Obviously we all like it or we wouldn't be here. Does anyone know for sure yet? No, it's not out yet. I'll know Saturday how I feel behind the wheel and I'll tell you then
