Recover bricked module?

Hi, I have flashed wrong 0pa file to my RAD2 module, RADPLUS2 instead of RA2CL2. I still see module in UIF but like this:

I know its original firmware RA2CL2 9205965. When I start to flash it Radio screen starts blinking which indicates flashing but then turns off instead of staying on. After some time I get error:

Error 211: Error on flash programming!

Is it possible to recover bricked module?

When you can read out with Tool32, you can try to flash with NFS Emergency Flash.

It is responding to tool32:

But NFS Emergency Flash seems to be the same as regular WinKFP flash, and getting similar error:

When you cant flash it with NFS, it is probably bricked.
Do you entered the right Adress and ZB Number in NFS ?

I hate the term "bricked", it's used too loosely.

If the devise is responding, it's booting and is probably just in recovery mode. Needs a valid program and calibration file to operate.

If the UIF and calibration dataset information is corrupt Windkp and NFS will not be able to identify the module. Windkp in expert mode is the tool left to flash using standard protocols. Expert mode allows flashing without module verification. You must manually select ecu address, ipo, prg, 0pa and 0da files.

Flash the correct program and then the calibration file.

Greetings.
Pardon me for my grammar, doing my best, sorry.

Since there's no "solved" post, I guess, it's not fixed yet. Any updates or did you just replace the headunit?

Here's my WinKFP, Tool32 screenshots:

One or two years ago I did try to flash the RAD2 (HW: 6968101, ZUSB 9150107) via cheap K+DCAN cable without any power supply. It did not ended well. I got the same error 211, Code 2082 Clear Flash.

Also I tried both comfort and expert modes etc. If I use INPA or Tool32 to read the RAD2' UIF it works... sort of.
The flash_programmier_status_lesen is 12. So, as I learned from the couple of threads it's doable to revive the module back to work if it's on Programming status 12, but at the moment I can't find exactly right way how to.

Last week I bought the VXDIAG VCX SE adapter for BMW, had a couple of tries with it, but it didn't work either.
After that I ordered the 70A power supply and waiting for the delivery now.

This post will be updated or replied if I'll get a new information or the flash will be succeed

the RAD2 modules is known not very compatible with cheap D-CAN cables
so if you want to flash them you have to consider ICOM or premum D-CAN cables which have resolved issue with coding using large packets, like bimmergeeks and other cables

I have never recovered my RAD2 its still laying around. I have tested and its "FLASH_PROGRAMMIER_STATUS = 12"

If you will find how to revive the module back to working please post here.

Actually I just tried to flash back good firmware and it worked. I guess I did not have updated cable so maybe that was the issue. RAD2 is working again.

Could you, please, tell me exactly what you did? And what ZUSB, sp-daten and a Headunit part number you have?

I have a pre-LCI Alpine from previous owner, but the car is LCI and was equipped with Business CD before.

Just use bimmergeeks or any updated firmware cable. I think this was a key to fix bricked module. I just updated with WinKFP firmware RA2CL2 9205965.
RAD2 is 65129187108 HW 9149224.

I have a VCX SE, it's like an ICOM, but original chinese version

Tried to program with different 0pa files, no result. One thing that confuses me it's that v69 sp daten don't have exactly correct ZUSB number for RAD2 module that I have. When I'm typing ZUSB via Comfort mode it causes an error ZUSB can't be found.

I will try to find some old sp daten like v32 or something from 2008.

The power supply is still on the way, but I don't think that it's a voltage problem tbh.

upd: The downloaded v32 sp daten do not contain exact ZUSB either. Gonna try to find even earlier versions. My thoughts that i'm facing the wall with that actions, but i don't have any better ideas for now.

SUCCESS but not because of the power supply.

Anyway, yesterday I got my PSU, tried to flash RAD2 with the programming voltage ON, headed to no result as always.

Today I was thinking "what if it's because of the broken MOST Ring, cause I don't have any MOST module, but the RAD2 HU Have the MOST GW and it blinks when the ignition is on. So, I just made the MOST loop with original BMW wiring (will retrofit top hi-fi in the future, looking for parts at the moment) and has connected it to the RAD2.

Then:

Comfort Mode
Update ECU
Choose RA2CL2
Prog.
Ok

I did it with VCX SE through WiFi connection (lol), because I did not think that it will work. The flash procedure took about 15 minutes.

To program the RAD2 with MOST GW you must connect it to itself or rather have MOST loop

How did you connect the headunit to itself on the MOST ring ?
