Wind noise?
Hey guys,
Any of you have issues with wind noise once you get into the triple digits? Around 110+ I can really hear air rushing in (or out) by the B pillar. Seems to only happen on one side, though. Just wondering if anyone else has the same issue...?

Eh I have E92 and mine seemed noisy at 120+ in Germany. But I live in VA, and 110 here is automatic reckless driving and 20 mandatory days in jail. Not going to check it out unless I am out of state. 90mph is where the cut off is and mandatory reckless \ mandatory jail starts. I day for every mile above 90. Police state down here in the land of the free.

Noisy is one thing, but on my drivers side it seems like the seal might be bad or something, you can hear air coming in or out...

It can be improved by window adjustment on the e92.

Wasn't there someone on here a few months back who ran the rev limiter in 6th on the Autobahn, Vbox confirmed 186 MPH or something like that? Might've been Edo.
Mine can start to get noisy over 120. I was going to try Gummi Pfledge at some point, but if generic grease works too, I'll just give that a shot. 335e92tx, is there a guide around to doing that?

Had the same problem with mine. I would get wind noise on both windows at speeds over over 130kmh (80mph). If you applied pressure on the right angle corner of the window, the wind noise become much worse.
Took to the dealer to fix. He gave me the old "well you shouldn't be going over the speed limit then should you." This was met with a very speedy "Don't worry about me. Just fix the car mate" There are adjustment cams along the window runner that adjust the window to match the curvature of the door frame window rubber. He used 3 x folded pieces of paper about 4mm (160 thou) in thickness at the top, middle and bottom of the window, with the window in the fully up position and closed. He adjusted the window in and out at each point so that the pressure was the same at all points when pulling the paper out. When the 3 points were the same you can then assume that the curvature of the window is essentially the same as the door frame rubber. Now we are parallel. He did this for both doors. Now, at speeds up to 200kmh (120mph) I can confirm there is no wind noise evident. Don't now about 176mph though. Doors also feel alot tighter when travelling over rough surfaces. Love it !! Master tech who did the job advised me that this can sometimes happen and is a result of a slight misalignment in the window setup from the factory. He also pointed up that this was less of a problem in 2009 on built cars. Job was performed under warranty. I not aware of an SIB this issue, so you may probably need to rely on the prowess of you local tech. Hope this helps.

Sensitivity to cross winds?
I'm not experiencing any wind noise (e90 2010 N55 335i) up to 250km/h (in closeby Germany), on several occasions. But each time, weather was perfect, no wind.(no cars!)
On another day, I thought a noticed a weird noise, but the conditions (heavy traffic and very windy conditions) and the duration didn't allow me to confirm where it was coming from. It was only 130km/h though. |

On E92's, the windows do not have window frames to support the glass. Sealing is through pressure of the window glass itself against the rubber seal on the door frame on the body of the car. If this load/pressure is insufficient you will tend to get wind noise unfortunately.

its funny you guys post this. I was on a 500km trip one way this weekend and driving at 120-130km/h what ever that is in mph (70?) and I noticed a lot of wind noise. I never thought stealer would take the car in for such a complaint but now that I see some of you had it done I might consider it.
