Through a Belt, Heat and Battery Warning, Water Pump or ERG?

Flight 335D through a belt on the way home last night. Came home on the flat bed after getting multiple overheating warnings.

Last week I got a low coolant warning, so I add quart of coolant. Thinking the EGR cooler may be leaking?

A few days ago I heard a squeal that went away after the engine warmed up, thinking it coudl be the alternator bearings? I repalce the tensioner a year ago when I repalce the brushed in the laternator.

Will know more when I tear into it..

How do I tell if the ERG cooler is leaking vs the water pump? Whose EGR delete kit do you recommend?

Given the coolant loss was followed by a squeal in the belt drive.. I am thinking water pump? How difficualt is the water pump job? Whose water pump do you recommend?

Thanks for your response!

242k on a waterpump? Sounds like you've got some much needed maintenance ahead of you. If there is no external leak, EGR cooler leaking is a good bet.

Tore into the D this morning... The water pump bearing gave out, the balancer eat the drive belt and ruined AC belt. Got the thermostat and water pump on the way.

May change the boost hose while I am there, any particular brand boost house I should use?

Thanks..

The D is back together, how do I bleed the cooling system? Does the D use the same procedure as any other E90 w electric water pump? Ignition on, hold the gas pedal for 10 sec?

It's a mechanical waterpump. Fill, drive, fill drive. Simple.

Weird these problems are still happening and the lack of searching is just shocking.
