A bunch of error codes after not driving for 5 weeks

I have a 2011 335d. 90k miles

I also had a posterior root meniscus tear on my right knee mended. What that means is no load bearing and no driving.

So 5 weeks passes and I get the all clear to drive.

I start the car and drive a bit and then the Service Engine Light comes on.

I put the reader on it and I get the following codes, all related to the ECM: 4B6A, 4B73, 4C7C. Could all this be some kind of buildup due to not driving?

Go for a drive, clear codes and see what comes back.

I agree clear drive and see what comes back up, my 335d gets a little moody if it sits a while.

Mine likes to throw a few transmission codes when it sits for a few weeks, I reset the codes and drive it like a rental lol.

When I first purchased mine, it had a bunch of random codes and weird glitches. Ie seat memory forgetting the setting, etc. Previous owner had replaced the battery but it wasn't the right size (too small) but I load tested it and it failed.

Put in a new battery, correct size and everything was back to good. If you didn't keep your battery on a trickle and it was on it's way out, sitting that long could have killed it. I'd say load testing would be your best bet to check the health (and the only correct way)

Thanks all for the replies. The battery is 7 months new from the BMW Stealership and was fully charged.

I wound up driving it normally and by the second day, the idiot light went off. Didn't realize she'd be all cranky after not being driving so long.

It happens. Glad it ended up being nothing.
