Has anyone successfully changed the dash color?

I was thinking about changing the dash, gauge, interior light color if possible. Has anyone heard or done it before? If so, how hard is it?

Thanks

This guy did it... doesn't go into detailed specifics, but doesn't sound like a simple backdrop change.

1.) remove dash by unscrewing 2 torx screws at the top of the dash
- move the steering wheel down as much as possible, then you'll be able to squeeze the dash out, no need to remove steering wheel
2.) unplug the dash harness located at the back of the dash
3.) there are 4 torx screws holding the dash together, next unclip the dash apart.
4.) use a flat head screwdriver, or something flat, to pry the needles out.remember to put like a playing card/paper between the needle and dash so you won't scratch it
5.) pull the dash apart.
6.) on the backside of the circuit board, around the needle pins, are the smd leds. there are 4 located around each large needle, and 2 around each small needle.
7.) unsolder the leds, remember to write down the direction of the smd, or you can just do it one at a time
8.)put the dash back together, but not the big window face. plug it back into your car
9.) (this is to get the needles back into the right position) do the 2.00 KI test, by press and hold the odometer reset button, then plugging in the key, and then press the odometer button til you get to 2.00 KI test. do the test. this will move the needles, after test is done, move the needles into proper position. do ki test again to see if the needles are moving correctly.
10. now put the face back on, then put dash back into car

I love the way this looks. I thought it would look weird with the rest of the orange but surprisingly it looks great! I was just wondering if anyone did all the lights in white. Just curious to see how itd look

That does look good and would look better if everything else matched.

Does the cruise control light shine through the white light or does it get washed out?

its very simple but you need soldering iron some pliers to remove needles and good quality leds from alliexpress they have brighter than original m3 dash. i can help you if you but there are a lot of videos on youtube for uninstall of dash. just be careful uninstalling needles and installing them not too much pressure cause you ca brake the motor and when you unsolder on led chip you install the new one on the same way
