If it's 8/24, then no. Also if it's only coming with auto then it's a no go for me. Not really into any color they are offering, so TR it is. Now if it is 8/23, with manual and more or individual color then I would wait.

Let us put some emphasis on “likely.” There is no absolute certainty to that.

I am sticking with my opinion until proven otherwise.

No, I will follow through irregardless. The risk of potentially losing the manual transmission far outweighs a competition model. Furthermore, I will more than likely order a G87 with individual paint once it becomes available.

Never said it was for certain. As you pointed out ynguldyn said it's "likely", not it's a sure thing. In the title of my post it literally says "expected", the post speaks for itself. Anyone that wants to know what we know to date can read through it. It's literally all we have to go by until something more official comes out.

I also don't get your point about sticking to your own opinion, no one asked you change it.

Just played around on configurator from the US, UK, and France. We are more affordable than all of them:

I specced a M2 closest I could w/ my projected order:

Canada: $80,285 CAD;
US: $82,295 CAD;
UK: $100,400 CAD; and
France: $116,400 CAD.

Let's be thankful. When I got my E46 M3 in 2004, order was similar except the US was cheaper than us.

They don’t get paid in CAD outside of Canada... fx conversions are meaningless.

I mean considering it's produced outside of Canada the conversion is pretty important. It costs BMW the same amount of money to produce regardless of where it's sent.

All it shows is that BMW sells the car a different price in different markets… like all cars and all products.

It you do the same job in another country you also get paid a different amount so it’s really pointless to compare these things.

But I get that Canada gets decent pricing overall, all things considered.

It is as close to comparing apples to apples for Canadians.

The UK and France include 20% VAT (sales tax) in the prices, North American prices need sales tax to be added on top.

I know their tax rates is high, but I was not aware they were included in the price upfront. Good to know, thx.

Throughout the EU and many other countries with VAT systems (such as Australia), the prices quoted by law have to include all sales taxes. As a business, anything purchased that is VAT refund eligible can be quoted ex-tax, but the price tag for members of the public must have the price paid quoted.

It is really the US and Canada that are out of step with the rest of the Western World in this respect.

Secured a spot at a 3rd dealer. Here is a recap:

1) 4th spot at a dealer w/o deposit w/ email MSRP pricing. I heard bad stories about that dealer and I have some alarm bells going off in my head. They do not give me the warm and fuzzy feeling. Stories that put the deal definitely in jeopardy;

2) 7th w/ deposit and draft invoice order (new spot secured today) MSRP pricing. They were given 2 spots last year but got 4. This would mean MY 2024 and delivery summer 2024 unless some buyers bow out; and

3) 9th w/ deposit and draft invoice MSRP pricing. My SA is on vacay and will get historical allocation number. I am expecting similar to 2).

Note that my draft invoices included my preferred Individual color in case it is available for Canadian market (doubtful) or possible by the time my build can be entered in the system.

Can you tell I am very excited about this? First car purchase in 15 years.

Of all the countries I checked (Spain, Italy, France, UK, Germany, New Zealand, and the US), Australia and Canada were the only ones without it.

I must admit I am very confused.

For your first dealer, idk why anyone would consider you a client without a deposit. I would not be able to put you on the waitlist without a deposit. there would be no sold date.

There is no individual colours at the Mexico Factory so it is not available for any marketplace

2021 M2 allocations are not a fair sample size since the car was only made for half of that year. Even then seems like a lot of demand and small dealerships.

Yes, this is settings off alarms bells as well as reported last minute extortion extra fees prior to delivery of custom order vehicles. 4th is the highest standing, but the SA assigned to me is the newest on the team. I do not have the strongest vibe from that store.

I know but I am still dreaming. The Mexico plant is supposed to be the most advanced and surely has the capability to have Individual paint at some point.

I was quoting M4 allocation. Different vehicle but what else can I make some assumptions for prediction? As a dealer insider, feel free to help us out.
