For my Liqui Moly guys 5w40 Leichtlauf vs 5w30 Special Tec

2010 328i AWD N51 130k

I have been using Liqui Moly 5w40 Leichtlauf on my car for some time now, but saw that from the Liqui Moly website it actually suggested the 5w30 Special Tec for my car. What is the main differences? What Liqui Moly product would you run?

Thanks in advance.

5w30 is technically the viscosity the car calls for so that makes sense that's going to be what they recommend. The Leightlauf is very commonly run in these cars and will work just fine.

As far as their lines of oil, I'm not sure what the differences are. I know they have a top tec, special tec, leightlauf, etc. but I don't run liqui moly so I'm not familiar with each.
