Re: Trading in for an E93; any room for negotiation
I am looking to trade in my current 335i for a 2008 335i Convertible. The dealer I will be talking too sold me my current car, so I will be a repeat customer, if that means anything! The sticker on the convertible is $57 800, however this is posted on their website, and therefore I am unable to verify how well optioned the car is in this message. For that price, is will surely be well loaded. I am wondering how much room there is for negotiation on this price. Thanks in advance.

If you're trading in a 2007 for a 2008 car, you must either be loaded or stupid. If you're loaded, you shouldn't care how much money you're paying for the e93. If you're stupid, then there's probably not much anyone can do to talk you out of this obviously emotional move. You must be your dealer's wet dream.

Might as well now because your dealer is planning for his Xmas vacation to the Carribbean or his Xmas skiing trip to Vail.

If you like convertibles, you'll love the E93. I traded in a 10 month old 350Z for my E93 last year, and haven't looked back since. It is an awesome car!
You can use Edmund's to get a feel for pricing discounts in your zip code. If you believe what they say, then Miami discounts for new E93s off MSRP are almost 4%. If you're a repeat customer, they may go a little higher, but the problem will be determining how much of a new car discount you're getting vs your trade value. Do some research on the value of your trade, and you'll be able to tell if you're getting a fair deal. |

Wow, wasn't ready for all the nastiness.........
For those that provided positive feedback - thank you! While it may seem crazy to trade in a 2007 for a 2008, here is what I want you to consider. I have had my 07 for 13 months and driven it 4 000 miles. My dealer is giving me a huge break on the 08 335i Convertible, and a fairly decent trade in on my 07 335i. With this in mind and adding 0.9% financing, free money in my opinion, this is a great opportunity to get the car I want at very close to the payment of the 07, plus have the benefit of the cabrio hardtop. My car allowance, which I receive from my company, covers the payment handily. Also, I am looking at an extra year of warranty coverage. I have never experienced BMW providing an interest rate of .9%, this has spurred me to take the plunge - absent that incentive, it would not be a good idea as the payment would increase too much. In addition, isn't it fair for a dealer to make a profit? Were it not for the profit incentive of our capitalist system, few, if any of us would be able to drive BMW's. I certainly expect to make a profit in my business dealings as should you. I have had the benefit of escaping to the USA from a socialist system. A system that attempts to breed personal profit out of everything, and destroys any individuality in the process - let us see how happy you would be driving a Trabant, or a Lada, or maybe a Yugo. Be careful what you wish for in the USA, there are many here disguised as the good guys that would love to change this beautiful country into a so - called "socialist paradise". Personally, I have found this board to be very helpful, and have supported the vendors who support us. I have owned a Boxster for 11 years now, and visit ppbb.com everyday - now there is a board with manners and civility. I do not like some of the mods that people do to their cars here, however, to them, the mods are cool - I do enjoy the individuality that comes out on the E90 post, however, to get nasty to a felloe boarder posting a reasonable question is unnecessary.

If you can financially work that out, I would do it, life is too short.
I traded in my 07 328i coupe for a 08 335i coupe and couldn't be happier!!!

I have a customer who currently is driving an '08 335 sedan, purchased new in Feb,'08 through the ED program. They currently have 6 K on the car and last week they went to Car Max and was offered exactly what they paid including sales tax ( at 3% ).That means if they decide to sell it to Car Max,the car cost them zero for 6 months to own it.The best part about ED is that you're buying the car under dealer cost so you're ahead of the game in the first year.btw, there are a lot of other great benefits about ED.
