Anyone got a suggestion for an app that uses youtube music credentials but you can actually see some things on the screen? The YT music app just goes full screen and you can't see skip/back/pause, next playing etc.

Never tried YouTube Music, but there is the whole Revanced project. Download the MicroG manager and install it, from there you will be able to download revanced apps including YouTube Music.

Thank you very much for your post! This has brought me to use MacroDroid (similar to tasker) to build a Macro which opens Google Maps and Youtube Music in a split screen (using UI interactions). I still have to perform the "ADB hack" for the HU so that the accessability services don't get disabled by Android (I've tested it on my phone and it seems to work).

I am planning to create Macros for different app combinations in split screen.
One option to trigger the Macros would be to use "floating buttons" from MacroDroid as shortcuts (= buttons that overlay the current apps and can be moved by gestures).

However, a better idea has come to my mind: Has anybody ever used an external USB controller for the HU? In my Mercedes C class, the controller could be placed in the ash tray. The tool Key Mapper (or KSW toolkit) could be used to remap the buttons. This would allow for a large amount of shortcuts.
I think I'm going to try this using a device like this.

KSW Toolkit 2 lets you skip/back/pause/next with physical buttons, I use it everyday.

Has anyone noticed that when you press on the OEM steering wheel button to go to the previous track, sometimes your music MUTES simultaneously with going to the previous track? Noticed this today...
Going to the next track never does this.
I do use KSWtoolkit and I have swaped the forward command with the back command there because as some have also noticed they were reversed.
I checked MCU listener and pressing the next & previous buttons results in a single entry blahblah-161

I'm getting overly confused...

I have an F23... NBT EVO ID4...

I ordered a HU for NBT... Head Unit as such seems to work but no iDrive control, no switch from a system to the other...

Shall I get a proper EVO HU ? Or any chance to make it work ?

Hi! I don't force my HU much Therefore, everything works for me as originally intended by the Chinese. I didn't notice that. But I note that different music applications can manifest themselves in different ways. As well as the settings and options of the KSW-Toolkit, they can manifest themselves differently on different versions of the MCU. As well as not all options are compatible and will work. I mostly listen to Apple Music and use Carplay/Autokit. I also use the KSW-Toolkit. For a long time using the set of programs I am familiar with, I did not notice any changes. No one complained on the Russian forum either

Considering how the guys from the forum tried and brought their software to perfection, as well as Chinese firmware since sd625 have reached the level of almost release, I would argue Previously, the possibilities were more modest

I tried searching for a solution so please forgive me if this has been answered a million times. I appreciate all positive and helpful responses!

I purchased an XTRONS 12.3 Inch Android 13 Car Stereo for my son's 2014 BMW F30... he totaled his car so I bought him an F30 320i.

I used to be a professional car audio installer and I'm currently an Electronics Engineer. Installation went smoothly, I moved the fiber connection from old harness to new harness, ran the aux cable to the center console, the display works, just no audio. I can make a phone and receive phone calls.

I have no factory idrive control and can't confirm I'm using Aux input on the factory stereo because my iDrive won't display properly:



I tried adjusting these values:

"Full screen display of the original car", tried checking the box but then the screen was entirely black...



I tried every resolution, the automatic adjustment didn't do anything either, I tried both LVDS types but neither worked:



I tried changing the audio switch option but both Manual Switch and Menu Interface with IDriver Switching seemed to pull up the first screen when long pressing the menu button on the idrive control.



Any suggestions? I just emailed XTRONS tech support but there seems to be more knowledge here.

Please attach a screen about the system from the launcher. Your HU is different from the ones discussed here. I studied the advertisement, the seller was too shy to specify the processor of your HU.

I recently bought from Aliexpress a headunit for my F34GT. The producer is MEKEDE.
It looks like it has some MTK CPU inside, here are the specs:
ANDROID: 2312141138
MCU: ML0-mtk C01_wgz01a-zZzzWY_WY-CC568091-8A_20230926-08:46
BOARD: ZQ MTK 9109
APP: ZQ9109_C01_GA6_OSU-BBA-13-EN-D_2023-12-14-1137

While the specs look good, please be aware that this unit cannot support weather widgets, for instance, which for me is a major drawback.

No, he totalled a Lexus and I bought him the BMW. According to the lookup table I found, the 2014 F30 has NBT so I bought that version of the Android 13 XTRONS. He had the small 6.5" screen and basic button layout so after doing more research, he may have the CIC MID.

VIN Lookup shows these options:

Ah, for some reason I understood that he totalled an F30 and you bought him another one, nevermind. VIN decoders don't tell the full story unfortunately, as for example S609 Professional Navigation can be anything from CCC to MGU spanning 8 generation of iDrive system. Maybe this will help. Also Chinese are not helping with their vague descriptions of especially when it comes to these sometimes awkward transition periods and iDrive version starting with E generation CIC, then F generation CIC, early NBT (CIC-HIGH) and later NBT EVO which had 3 or 4 different hardware versions running anything from iDrive 4 to iDrive 6. Add all base navigations and radio variants to the mix and you will end up with a proper headache.

Thank you. That chart is exactly how I arrived at having the NBT since it's a 2014 F30, but this implies that I have a CIC Mid

What you have on that pic is clearly E series equipment. F series would have the front panel separated and not part of the headunit itself. Do you have a photo of your actual headunit?
