Interesting. My first guess would've been throwout bearing.
Hard to say without putting a scope on it but likely something like the AC compressor or idler pulley. Could possibly be inside the engine or trans if it's coming from the middle of the car but I've noticed that sounds can be very deceiving on where they come from, especially on modern cars. |

I have the same noise on mine - really noticeable in stop and go traffic. Though perhaps not as pronounced. Here’s what mine sounds like - same noise?
One shop said it was my motor mounts starting to go. For me it’s really localized to the passenger side. Thinking about changing the boost solenoid of all things, as those are known to go bad and make noise too. Will also say I’ve already had my rod bearings replaced (only like 10K miles ago, OE bearings). Car boosts & drives fine. It’s really weird… |

I'll tell you honestly, it sounds identical. I also hear it on the passenger side, it is most audible when driving slowly in 1st and 2nd gear. I'm also completely at a loss as to what it could be, as the car accelerates normally, it doesn't display any errors either, but it's terribly annoying, it's impossible to feel the pleasure of driving through this gear. I will be returning the car to a good mechanic sometime in April so I will let you know what it could be. Because we have the same problem. |

Thought I was the only one!
I think I’ll go ahead and replace the boost solenoid. It’s in the same general area. Also, this happens in neutral, or in park. Low engine speed, around when the turbo watergate opens. Points more towards the solenoid, come to think of it… Do you have the PPK installed? My car came from the factory with it. |
