Have you tried the F12 trick on the garage page to see your build date? Search the forum for details, but essentially you use your browser dev tools to pull hidden detail data out of the webpage. Shows your detailed build specs as well as build date and such. Mine is scheduled for build date next Wednesday.

Hone your patience for when the car is built and you're waiting for it to leave the factory. You'll need it.
EDIT: I'm on day 14 of "Final Assembly". No idea when my car is even going to leave the factory, much less be on a boat. Order was placed in early February and I'm starting to think I'll be lucky to have it by the end of June. Last edited by td1439; 04-11-2024 at 10:16 AM.. |

Bummer. Wonder what the hold up is. Mine went all the way through to Final Assembly yesterday, so we’ll see if it stays there for a while. Wonder if they’re waiting for transport space or final components to complete the builds.

You should be able to find out from your CA or Genius when the build is actually done even if the tracker doesn't update past 'final assembly'. Keep us posted on how things progress for you; hopefully we both get a ship soon! |

Mine was stuck in Final Assembly for 21 days. Finally changed to Ready for Transport 4 days ago on the 12th. They must have finally found the missing bolt under the seat, lol.
When I stopped by the store the other day, my CA told me that it may not update again until the car arrived at the dealership. She doesn't take the tracking system very seriously since it doesn't seem to be updated very well. Thankfully she was wrong since it did move again. This is still way more info than I got when my Kia was being built, which was no information at all....... |

Just doesn't seem to be any consistency in the system, and unfortunately it's what CAs and Genius rely on to update customers as well. |

I wonder if there's any relationship between production timelines and destination locale, specifically east coast US/europe vs west coast US deliveries. I noticed a trend in looking through past posts in this thread that east coast/europe bound cars seemed to sit waiting for transporation a lot longer than west coast US bound cars.
I also notice something strange this morning that the myBMW app still shows my car in Final Assembly, whereas the website My Garage shows Ready for Transport. Seems like maybe the app is a bit delayed in getting it's data source updated. |

Mine hit “Final Assembly” on March 21, and just got moved to “Ready for Transport” today (26 days!!), so hopefully yours is too. The app still says “Final Assembly” so check the website, which seems to have more current information for whatever reason.

My app status was definitely delayed while my car was being built. The whole time the tracker was on the different stages of production, the app still showed "Production Begins". When the tracker updated to "Final Assembly" and my CA texted to say the car was built, the app suddenly changed to "Final Assembly" as well, and the gallery was updated to show better renderings and the videos of the exterior and interior.

For those out there trying the F12 trick and thinking they're doing it wrong, it's not you. BMW's tracking systems aren't really talking to each other very well right now. "My Garage" has been stuck on "at port" for a week; the F12 trick has reported 193 (at exit port) for a week as well. I called the "Genius" today and was told that, no, the car was actually sitting at the VPC in New Jersey. But, her system wasn't telling her why it has been at VPC that long or why it has not yet been assigned to a carrier. So where's my car? Maybe in New Jersey? Maybe still in Mexico? Maybe on a truck to the dealer? Nobody knows. |
